Angels & the Word: Understanding the Angelic Ministry That Powers Every Blessing of God

Angels & the Word: Understanding the Angelic Ministry That Powers Every Blessing of God

Teaching by Prophet Lovy L. Elias · Watch on YouTube · 22 June 2021

Every breakthrough, healing, deliverance, and protection God has ever released on the earth has come through the ministry of angels.

There is nothing God does without His angels. Ignorance of the angelic realm is not a minor theological gap — it is ignorance of the Kingdom of God itself, and it disqualifies believers from accessing the full ministry God has established for their benefit. Understanding how angels operate, how they are categorized, and how they function in partnership with the Spirit is foundational to the Christian life.

Teaching Overview

  1. God accomplishes all His works through angelic beings, and ignorance of the angelic realm means ignorance of how the Kingdom of God operates.
  2. Angels are not peripheral to God's activity — every healing, deliverance, breakthrough, and protection ever released on earth has involved angelic ministry.
  3. There are distinct categories and hierarchies of angels, each functioning at different levels of spiritual administration.
  4. Discernment is not mere spiritual sensitivity or intuition — it is a faculty of the spirit that functions in partnership with angels.
  5. Anyone who does not understand the administration of angels is immediately disqualified from benefiting from their ministry.

Key Distinctions

Spiritual SensitivityDiscernmentIntuition
What it isAn elevated awareness of spiritual realities or presencesThe ability to know something without mental processing or external suggestionAn inner prompting that guides a decision or direction
SourceThe human spirit, functioning at a heightened levelThe spirit man operating in partnership with angelsThe spirit, but processed through thought or feeling
How it operatesProduces discomfort, unease, or awareness without clear knowledgeProduces direct knowledge — bypassing the mind entirelyProduces a sense of direction — "I think I should go right"
Mental processingPresent — the person feels something but does not know whatAbsent — knowledge arrives without analysis or opinionPresent — still being processed, even if subconsciously
Angelic involvementNone — operates through the human spirit aloneYes — the realm of discernment functions with angelsNone — intuition is sensitivity-based, not angelic
ExampleFeeling uncomfortable around a person with a wrong spirit without knowing whyKnowing a man had an ankle monitor without any natural informationChoosing a direction without a clear reason, guided by an inner sense
Morning StarsSons of GodWatchers
What they areA category of angels who have become similar to the LordA division of angelic beings whom humans refer to as "sons of God"Angels who were present at creation and custodians of the earth's secrets
Distinguishing featureBrightness and likeness to God — Jesus Himself is called the Morning StarSimilarity to human beings; the term is a human designation, not God'sObservers and documenters, but also powerful actors — involved in Genesis 6
Biblical referenceJob 38:7 — "the morning stars sang together"Job 38:7 — "all the sons of God shouted for joy"Ezekiel's vision — "I saw a holy one and a watcher"
Relationship to the fallThe term "son of the morning" was applied to Lucifer — distinct from "morning stars"Not the same as all heavenly hosts — a specific divisionA group of watchers fell in Genesis 6, producing giants
FunctionReflect the nature of God in the heavenly realmServe in a category that bears resemblance to human form and natureCustodians of earth's secrets; present at its formation

The Centrality of Angels in God's Kingdom

  • God is known by one of His names as the God of Hosts — the God of Angels or the God of the Heavenly Army — meaning He operates through beings He created.
  • Every deliverance, breakthrough, healing, and protection that has ever been released on the earth has involved angelic ministry.
  • Ignorance of the angelic realm is ignorance of how the spiritual world works and robs believers of the ministry God has established for them.

"There is nothing that God does without His angels. Anyone that is ignorant of the angelic realm is ignorant of their spiritual life."

The Impossibility of Supernatural Work Without Spiritual Beings

  • It is impossible to do any kind of supernatural work without the aid of spiritual beings — this truth is understood even in the demonic world.
  • God is omnipresent, omniscient, and all-powerful, but He works through His angels — cutting out the angelic middle man means cutting off the channel through which God works.
  • If you are ignorant of the channel through which God delivers His blessing, you forfeit the blessing itself.

"If you're ignorant of the channel, you miss your blessing."

The Levels of Spiritual Administration

  • There are things that can be handled at the human level, things handled by angels, things handled by higher angels, and things handled by God Himself — the Spirit operates in levels.
  • The angelic realm mirrors a judicial system: lower matters are addressed at lower levels; greater matters are escalated through the hierarchy of Heaven.
  • Heaven itself is not one place — Paul's testimony of the third heaven confirms multiple ascending realms, each populated by different orders of angelic beings.

"The spirit goes in levels. It's 100% levels."

The Seraphim: Angels Who Answer by Fire

  • When Elijah prayed "the God who answers by fire," he was not expecting literal fire to solve a job request — he was invoking a specific category of angels called Seraphim, meaning "burning ones."
  • The Seraphim are the angels from the presence of God; they are the flames of fire the Scripture refers to when it says God makes His ministers flames of fire.
  • When fire fell on the captains of fifty in 2 Kings 1, it was the Seraphim bringing the fire at the command of the angel of the Lord.

"When Elijah said, the God who answers by fire, he was requesting an angel from the presence of God called Seraphim."

The Angel of the Lord: God's Spokesman in Action

  • The angel of the Lord is God's spokesman — just as a prophet speaks on behalf of God and declares "thus says the Lord," the angel of the Lord speaks and acts as a direct representative of God.
  • No one can see God directly; therefore, when Scripture alternates between "an angel in the cloud" and "the Lord in the cloud," it is the same event — the angel acting in God's name.
  • The angel of the Lord is the one who encompasses those who fear Him, who protects the believer while sleeping and walking — this is the ministry of Psalm 91:11 in action.

"There is no manifestation of God without the angel of the Lord."

Jesus, the Wilderness, and the Power of Angelic Ministry

  • When Jesus returned from the wilderness in the power of the Spirit (Luke 4:14), that power was directly connected to the angels who ministered to Him during the forty days.
  • When the devil tempted Jesus specifically on the promise of angelic protection (Psalm 91:11), it reveals how strategically important the ministry of angels is — Satan wanted Jesus to lose confidence in it.
  • Jesus demonstrated full awareness of angelic assistance when He declared He could call on His Father for twelve legions of angels — a figure so excessive it underscores the overwhelming power available through angelic deployment.

"Don't you know, I can ask my Father for 12 legions of angels. And nobody will be able to touch me."

The Categories and Hierarchy of Angels

  • The angels who fell with Lucifer represent only a portion of a specific division of angels — "a third of the stars" refers to a countable category, not all the innumerable angelic hosts.
  • Morning Stars, Sons of God, and Watchers are distinct choirs and divisions of angels — each with different functions, different proximities to God, and different relationships to creation.
  • Lucifer's rebellion was an attempt to be elevated to a higher category or realm of angelic rank — he is called the "son of the morning," distinct from the "morning stars," which represent a likeness to the Lord Himself.

"A third of the stars is not talking about all the angelic hosts. It's talking about a division and area."

Watchers, Rafael, and the Ministry of Healing Angels

  • Watchers are custodians of the secrets of the earth because they were present when it was being formed — this is why the devil knows where all the wealth of the earth is hidden.
  • The angel Rafael — whose name means "the Lord my healer" — is the angelic minister behind healing; when believers pray "Jehovah Rapha," they are invoking God to send Rafael and his company to minister healing.
  • At the Pool of Bethesda, Rafael was the angel stirring the water — the angelic presence that released healing was not an anomaly but a pattern of how God administers wholeness.

"When you say Jehovah Rapha — God who heals — what you are invoking is invoking God to send Rafael and his friends, those who serve, to come and help you."

Discernment: A Faculty That Operates With Angels

  • Spiritual sensitivity is the heightened awareness of spiritual realities in the human spirit alone — it produces unease or awareness but not precise knowledge.
  • Intuition is a function of the spirit that still involves processing — it guides direction but remains in the realm of sensitivity, not revelation.
  • Discernment is categorically different: it is the ability to know something without any mental processing, without any outside suggestion — it bypasses the mind entirely, and it functions in partnership with angels.

"Discernment is the ability to know something without processing it with your mind."

Key Definitions

Angelic Ministry — The comprehensive work of angels as God's agents in executing every healing, deliverance, breakthrough, and protection released on earth.

Seraphim — The "burning ones"; a category of angels from the presence of God who manifest as fire; the ones Elijah was invoking when he prayed "the God who answers by fire."

Watchers — A division of angels present at the formation of the earth who serve as custodians of its secrets; they are distinct from holy ones, morning stars, and sons of God.

Spiritual Sensitivity — An elevated awareness in the human spirit that perceives spiritual realities — such as an uncomfortable presence — without identifying their precise nature; it operates through the human spirit alone.

Discernment — The ability to know something directly and precisely without mental processing or externally suggested opinion; it functions in partnership with angels and bypasses the mind entirely.

Intuition — A function of the spirit that produces a directional prompting — "I think I should go right" — but still involves a form of processing; it is sensitivity-based, not angelic.

Key Takeaways

  • God accomplishes all His work through angelic beings — understanding this is not optional theology; it is the foundation of understanding how the Kingdom operates, and ignorance of it forfeits its benefits.
  • Every supernatural event in Scripture involved angelic activity — from Moses at the Red Sea, to Elijah's fire, to Jesus in the wilderness, to Daniel's revelation; recognising this pattern transforms how believers pray and expect.
  • There are distinct categories of angels functioning at different levels of spiritual administration — confusing or collapsing these categories (e.g. assuming all angels fell with Lucifer) produces deception and spiritual powerlessness.
  • Discernment is not spiritual sensitivity or intuition — it is a precise faculty of the born-again spirit operating in concert with angels, producing knowledge that bypasses mental analysis entirely.
  • Anyone who does not understand angelic administration is immediately disqualified from benefiting from it — knowledge of how angels operate is the access point to their ministry.

Reflection Questions

  1. In what areas of your life have you been praying for breakthrough, healing, or protection without any awareness of the angelic ministry God has assigned to deliver it — and how does this teaching change how you approach those prayers?
  2. Have you been limiting God to what you can understand or accomplish through natural means? What would it look like to genuinely believe that angels are actively involved in your daily decisions and spiritual walk?
  3. Reflecting on the distinction between spiritual sensitivity, intuition, and discernment — which of these have you been operating in, and what would it require for you to move into genuine discernment in partnership with the Holy Spirit and His angels?
  4. The angel assigned to Daniel's answer was delayed by spiritual opposition — have you dismissed unanswered prayers when in fact God has already spoken and dispatched the answer? How does this teaching reshape your posture in prayer and fasting?
  5. Which category of angelic ministry (healing through Rafael, fire through the Seraphim, protection through the angel of the Lord, revelation through Gabriel) is most relevant to what you are currently believing God for — and what does this teaching call you to do differently in how you seek it?
