Charis: The Oil of Favor and the Power of Divine Revelation
What God has revealed, He has already released — and only those who hear it in the Spirit can access it.
The sixth month carries prophetic weight: it is the month in which the One who made man complete was Himself conceived. God has announced a season of excruciating favor — a favor called Charis, the oil that adds sweetness with no sorrow and no pain — and the ability to access it depends entirely on your revelation level. What has not been announced to you cannot be touched. What has been revealed has been released.
Teaching Overview
- God operates through prophetic signs and tokens, and only those with prophetic sensitivity can convert what they see into the purposes of God.
- There are diversities of favor and grace — your grace level determines the measure in which you can express and receive what God has given.
- What has not been revealed to you cannot be accessed, exploited, or claimed — revelation is the gateway to possession.
- Your revelation level and ability to recognize God's divine visitation determines what He can release upon you.
- God's will is unstoppable — no enemy, no circumstance, and no limitation of the flesh can prevent what God has already decided for this season.
Key Distinctions
| Inner Man | Outer Man | |
|---|---|---|
| Nature | Spirit — eternal, immaterial | Flesh — temporal, physical |
| How God speaks to it | God speaks directly to the spirit | God does not speak to the physical ears |
| What it receives | The things of the Spirit | Cannot receive or understand the things of the Spirit |
| How it perceives season | By divine revelation and the announced word | By what is visibly happening in the natural |
| Where blessing begins | God's touch begins here | If touched externally only, inward transformation is not guaranteed |
| What Has Been Revealed | What Has Been Concealed | |
|---|---|---|
| Status | Released and available to access | Exists but cannot be touched |
| How to access it | Hear the prophetic word; open your heart | Cannot be accessed until announced |
| Effect on the believer | Produces faith, rest, and manifestation | Produces poverty, stagnation, and confusion |
| Biblical example | Mary receiving the angel's announcement | Blessings God prepared that no eye has seen (1 Corinthians 2:9) |
| Will of Man | Will of God | |
|---|---|---|
| Power | Limited, subject to opposition | Unstoppable |
| Scope | Restricted by natural ability and circumstance | Beyond what man can think, plan, or produce |
| Who can stop it | Can be blocked by circumstances | No demon, no enemy, no situation can stop it |
| How it operates | Through human effort and natural means | Through divine pronouncement and spiritual release |
| Diversities of Favor (Charis) | Regular Favor | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | The oil that adds sweetness — elevation and transformation with no sorrow or pain | Permission or allowance in a given situation |
| Scope | Everything responds to you regardless of location or opposition | Limited to specific circumstances or relationships |
| Biblical example | Mary — received favor no one else had received; Solomon — no war in all his borders | General goodwill from people in favorable situations |
| Effect on surroundings | Infectious — causes dead things and dormant destinies to come alive with joy | Does not necessarily affect others |
| Seeing (Flesh) | Believing Without Seeing (Spirit) | |
|---|---|---|
| Basis | Physical manifestation and natural evidence | The announced, prophetic word of God |
| Result when waiting | Misses the blessing — manifestation already passed | Positioned to receive — manifestation is on the way |
| What it calculates | Debt, circumstances, impossibilities | The spoken word of God as substance |
| Jesus' verdict | Implied rebuke — flesh cannot receive the things of the Spirit | "Blessed are they that believe without seeing" (John 20:29) |
The Prophetic Operates Through Signs and Tokens
- Not all signs and tokens are made obvious — it takes prophetic sensitivity to look at something and convert it into the purposes and mind of God.
- God will always speak personally and individually — those looking for a general sign are already lost.
- God uses the language and the knowledge a person has already built with Him in order to communicate — if you are not aware of that language, you will miss Him when He speaks.
"If you see something that connects to your spirit, it is easy to take that something and connect it to the purposes of God if you are prophetic enough."
The Word of God Is Personal
- The angel's greeting to Mary — "Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee" — was designed to be personal, not general.
- God's announcements are directed to individuals, not masses — the word spoken in a season is a blank check to whoever will take hold of it personally.
- The favor released in this season carries a personal dimension: it is directed at the individual who hears and receives it.
"You can put your own name there. This was meant to be personal."
Diversities of Favor and Grace
- Just as love has distinct expressions — Agape, spousal love, parental love — favor and grace also differ in levels and dimensions.
- Your grace level determines the cup of how far you can express what God has given — no amount of faith can take you beyond your grace level.
- Grace can increase: the Scripture says "grow in grace," meaning a higher dimension of grace is always available to be tapped into.
"You can copy the dress code, but you cannot copy the grace code."
"After today your grace will increase and others will take a step of your grace."
The Oil of Charis: A Favor That Changes Everything
- The favor poured on Mary was called Charis — the oil or favor that adds sweetness with no sorrow and no pain, but elevation and transformation.
- This favor is infectious: when Mary greeted Elizabeth, John the Baptist leapt in the womb — the oil of Charis causes dead and dormant things to come alive with joy.
- Solomon received this oil: in all his borders there was no war, resources came from every direction, and everyone submitted to him.
"When you receive this oil, those things that are dead — those things that are waiting to be birthed — become happy, joyful, profitable."
What Has Not Been Announced Cannot Be Accessed
- God reveals things by speech — if the prophetic word has not gone forth, it does not matter what Scripture has been read or memorized; you cannot access what has not been declared to you.
- In Ezekiel 37, God had already determined the restoration of the dry bones spiritually, but nothing moved until the prophetic word was spoken — the declared word is the activation mechanism.
- What has not been revealed to you cannot be used, accessed, or exploited — it is only what you know that you can gain access to.
"If it has not been declared to you prophetically to reveal what has been already done by God for you, you cannot access it."
"It is only what you know that you can gain access to."
Pursue What God Is Doing Now
- The error of the church is desiring what God did for Samuel or David while rejecting what God is doing now, which is greater.
- Jesus declared that those in the Kingdom are greater than John the Baptist — the greatest prophet — meaning the believer today carries a higher grace than the heroes of the past.
- Do not only pursue what was written — pursue what has been revealed.
"Don't only pursue what was written, but pursue what has been revealed."
God Speaks to the Spirit, Not the Flesh
- The flesh is wired to see — it calculates impossibilities, measures debt and circumstances, and questions the abilities of God.
- The flesh cannot receive the things of the Spirit because its realities are completely different from the realities of the Spirit.
- When God announces a season, the organ for hearing it is the spirit — not the physical ear.
"The Lord does not speak to these ears. God speaks to your spirit."
"The flesh cannot understand the things of the Spirit."
Words Are Substance
- Empty words carry no substance — but words of the Spirit are material and have a physical impact on physical things.
- Nothing can be moved or shifted spiritually without words — this is why God spoke when He created everything.
- When God wants to change a season, God speaks — whoever hears it will benefit, and whoever does not hear it will remain stagnant and wonder why.
"Words of the Spirit are substance. They are material. They have a physical impact. Immaterial words have a physical impact on physical things."
Recognizing the Divine Visitation
- Your revelation level determines what God can say to you — and your ability to notice that God has visited you determines what He can release upon you.
- Abraham recognized the Lord among three men, addressed Him as "My Lord" — singular — and compelled Him to enter his house; Lot saw the same men and said "My Lords," revealing a lower revelation level.
- The word of God comes without announcing itself — it requires the believer to take hold of it, open their heart, and pull on God.
"Your revelation level determines what God can release upon you."
"There is a way you can hear the word of God and you begin to say, 'Lord, even though the prophecy went to another — No, no, no, no, this is mine. This is for me.'"
Believing Without Waiting to See
- Jesus said, "Blessed are they that believe without seeing" — waiting for physical manifestation to confirm the word means you have already missed it.
- The fact that you have heard the word means the manifestation is already on the way — the hearing is the evidence, not the arrival.
- God's will is unstoppable — no demon, no enemy, no circumstance can prevent what God has already decided for this season.
"If you're waiting to see, you have already missed it."
"The will of God is unstoppable. What God has decided? No demon, no angel, no enemy — nobody — can stop it."
Key Definitions
Charis (Oil of Favor) — The specific favor God poured on Mary: the oil that adds sweetness with no sorrow and no pain, but produces elevation and transformation — a favor so complete that everything responds to the one who carries it.
Grace Level — The God-determined measure of capacity through which a believer can express and receive what God has given; faith cannot exceed it, but it can increase as the Scripture commands to "grow in grace."
Revelation Level — The degree to which a believer can perceive, recognize, and receive what God is saying and doing; it directly determines what God can release upon that person.
Divine Visitation — A moment when God moves through a person's proximity or speaks into their season; it requires spiritual discernment to recognize it — those who miss it receive none of its benefit, while those who take hold of it access its full release.
Signs and Tokens — Prophetic indicators through which God communicates His purposes; not universally obvious, they require prophetic sensitivity to be correctly interpreted and converted into the mind of God.
The Announced Word — The prophetically declared word of God for a specific season; until something is announced, it cannot be accessed or exploited — the announced word is the activation mechanism for what God has already done spiritually.
Key Takeaways
- The prophetic requires personal sensitivity, not general observation — God speaks individually, and only those who have built a language with Him through the Spirit will recognize and benefit from His voice.
- Your grace level is the true ceiling of your expression — no amount of religious effort or memorized Scripture can carry you beyond the grace God has measured to you, but that grace can grow.
- Revelation is the gateway to possession — what God has prepared but not yet revealed to you is inaccessible; once announced, it is released and available to anyone with ears to hear.
- Your revelation level determines what God can release upon you — the ability to recognize a divine visitation is not passive; it must be actively cultivated and aggressively claimed.
- God's will for this season is already done — the believer's role is not to earn or manufacture the blessing but to hear, open their heart, and allow what God has already decided to come to pass.
Reflection Questions
- When God speaks into a season, are you listening with your spirit or evaluating with your flesh — and what evidence in your current circumstances reveals which one you are doing?
- What blessing or promise have you been waiting to see before you fully believe — and what would it cost you to release that waiting and receive it now as already done?
- Is there a prophetic word, a Scripture, or a divine announcement that passed through your hearing but that you never personally seized as your own? What stopped you from saying, "This is mine"?
- Where is your grace level genuinely limiting your expression of God — and are you actively pursuing the growth in grace that Scripture says is available to you?
- If God's will for your life this month is already unstoppable, what specific impossibility are you willing to believe for — one that is completely beyond your own skill, resources, or ability to arrange?
Prayers and Declarations
Opening Prayer
"Father, we give you all the glory and the honor for who you are. We thank you that you do not change, you remain the same. Father, glorify yourself even in this hour. May we see your mighty hand over us. Lift us up by your mighty hand. Transform us, cleanse us from every iniquity. May your purposes be fulfilled in our lives, in the mighty name of Jesus."
Lift your voice and begin to tell the Lord, thank you:
"Thank you, Lord. For the revelation that is in this month. Thank you for the revelation. Thank you for the revelation. Thank you for the revelation."
"Every demon that has the intention is to block you from receiving or hearing the word of God. May that demonic spirit catch fire."
"How many of you are truly going to open your heart and say, 'You know what, Lord? I am actually ready for this. I am tired of crying. I am tired of being tired. I am tired that I am tired.'"
