Confronting Darkness: How God's People Are Called to Engage the Enemy

Purity, the Word, and the Spirit are the weapons God has given you to confront and cast out darkness — not passivity.

Darkness does not flee automatically from the presence of light. God has given His people the Word, the Spirit, and the authority to actively confront what the enemy has set against them. This teaching establishes that confronting darkness is the believer's responsibility — empowered by God, executed by the believer — and that purity and alignment with Jesus are the conditions that make such confrontation effective.

The Believer's Responsibility to Confront Darkness

It is not God's responsibility to confront darkness for the believer — it is the believer's responsibility, empowered by God.
God will fight for His people, fill them with the Spirit, and give them authority, but He will never confront the enemy on their behalf.
Even when healing has been provided by God, the sick must actively confront the sickness by declaring the Word before they enter into the healing.

"So many times we spend time in prayer but we spend very little time confronting darkness. That is a mistake. That is a mistake."

How Light and the Spirit Work Together

The presence of the Holy Spirit and the light of God's Word are not the same thing — the Spirit can be in a place without the Word being active.
The light of God's Word does not automatically cast out darkness — it confronts and exposes darkness, and through that confrontation the power of God is made available to cast out evil.
In Genesis 1, the Spirit was already hovering before God spoke light — what God spoke after the light came was not new creation but separation of what darkness had distorted.

A child of God perceives when the Spirit of God is present in order to engage that presence using the Word of God.

Exposing Spiritual Deception and the Necessity of Repentance

Psychics and those who operate with familiar spirits can imitate prophetic ministry, but their operations are evil and open those who visit them to spiritual attack.
The Bible commands God's people not to seek familiar spirits — they are to find a prophet of God instead.
After receiving deliverance, a person must align themselves with the Lord Jesus or demons will return and make the person's condition worse than before.

The altar is a place of divine presence and holiness — demons must depart when they come into contact with it.
The altar is not merely a symbolic place; it is sanctified by the Holy Spirit as a site of genuine spiritual transaction.
Those who serve at the altar must walk in purity — approaching it in sin has dangerous consequences.
