Controlling Dimensions: How Believers Reclaim Spiritual Authority Over Their Atmosphere
The battle is never physical — and until you control the spiritual dimensions of your life, someone else will.
Life is primarily spiritual. Every visible thing was made from invisible substance, and every struggle in the physical realm has a spiritual root. God gave Adam — and every believer in Christ — dominion and authority to control spiritual dimensions. The crisis facing most Christians is not a lack of prayer, but a failure to exercise the spiritual authority they already possess.
Teaching Overview
- Life is fundamentally spiritual — everything God created has spiritual substance, and the visible world was framed from the invisible.
- God gave man dominion to control spiritual dimensions, not merely to pray — and losing that control is what empowered Satan and demonic forces.
- Man exists simultaneously in three realms — spirit, soul, and body — each requiring active control, or another force will fill the vacuum.
- Prayer alone, without spiritual authority and atmospheric control, results in survival rather than deliverance.
- Believers in Christ have been restored to a position of dominion and are seated in heavenly places — they must now exercise that authority over every dimension of their lives.
Key Distinctions
| Creating | Making | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Bringing something into existence from God's spiritual substance | Forming and manifesting what was already created into the physical realm |
| When it occurs | Before time — in the spiritual dimension, generations had already happened | Begins in Genesis 2, when time starts to be calculated |
| What it produces | Spiritual substance that exists in another dimension | Physical appearance — things placed into the earth's atmosphere to grow |
| Example in Scripture | Genesis 1 — God created the heavens and the earth | Genesis 2 — every plant before it was in the earth; God forming man from dust |
| Authority | Power | |
|---|---|---|
| Source | Comes from above — God Almighty is the author of authority | Can be accumulated or delegated — but has no basis without authority |
| Who holds it | God, and those to whom He delegates it | Can be claimed or exercised by any entity, including Satan |
| Satan's position | Satan was never granted authority over the earth by God | Satan's apparent power comes only from controlling dimensions man surrendered |
| Scriptural grounding | All authority comes from God — even earthly rulers are ordained by Him | Satan told Jesus the kingdoms were "given unto me" — a claim, not a divine grant |
| Spirit | Soul | Body | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nature | Fully spiritual — knows everything; the inner man | Spiritual in nature but not the same as spirit; it learns and understands | Physical — exists in the earthly, material dimension |
| Realm of existence | Heavenly places — seated with Christ Jesus | A distinct dimension with its own set of realities | The physical world |
| State without Christ | Dead — does not exist in the spirit world | A slave — captive in the soul realm | Animated — appears free, but is not |
| How it grows | Born again by the Spirit | Being renewed — understanding comes through the soul | Sustained in the physical realm |
| Role in encountering God | Encounter with God is only in the spirit | Receives understanding — Gabriel appeared physically to reach Daniel's soul | Cannot perceive spiritual realities on its own |
| Prayer Before the Fall | Prayer After the Fall | |
|---|---|---|
| Basis | Dominion and access — man controlled dimensions and subdued the earth | Petition born of lack — man lost control and began asking from a position of deficit |
| What it reflects | A relationship of authority and stewardship | A position of dependence that can reflect either redemption or spiritual poverty |
| God's original instruction | Subdue, multiply, have dominion — not pray | Pray about everything — but from the restored position of a redeemed spirit |
| What it reveals about the believer | Not applicable before the fall | If prayer still sounds like begging, it reveals the believer has not yet moved to the other side of the cross |
| Spiritual Dimension | Physical Dimension | |
|---|---|---|
| What governs it | Spiritual authority — dominion, realms, and atmospheric control | Physical laws — time, matter, visible cause and effect |
| Source of opposition | Demonic forces controlling spiritual realms and atmospheres | Visible circumstances that are symptoms of spiritual disorder |
| How Adam operated | Controlled every realm — air, sea, ground — so Satan had no jurisdiction | Subdued the earth and tilled the ground as an act of accessing dimensions |
| Where the real battle is | Always here — "the battle you have is a spiritual battle, never a physical battle" | A secondary theatre — the visible expression of who controls the spiritual |
| Survival | Deliverance | |
|---|---|---|
| What it means | Living through adversity without controlling the spiritual atmosphere | Full freedom — atmospheric control restored, no ongoing demonic opposition |
| Example | Daniel — served God faithfully, lived to old age in Babylon, but remained a slave | What Daniel did not experience — control of the dimension he was planted in |
| What produces it | Prayer and faithfulness to God, without exercising spiritual authority | Controlling the spiritual atmosphere through the authority given in Christ |
| End result | You go to heaven, but you struggle all your life | Hard work turns to hardly working — anything you do bears results |
Life Is Primarily Spiritual
- Everything God created has a spiritual substance — whether visible or invisible.
- Hebrews 11:3 establishes that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear — the visible world was framed from invisible, spiritual substance.
- The battle is never physical — just because something appears does not mean that is what you are fighting against.
"Just because something appears does not mean that's what you're fighting against because the battle you have is a spiritual battle, never a physical battle."
Creating Versus Making
- Creating and making are not the same thing — Genesis 1 describes spiritual creation, while Genesis 2 describes physical manifestation into the earth's atmosphere.
- Every plant of the field existed in a spiritual dimension before it entered the earth — they were not grown from seeds but transferred from one dimension into this one.
- The act of tilling the ground was not agricultural labour — it was the ability to access dimensions for things to grow.
"In the spiritual dimension, there are already generations that have happened but on the earth is just the day that the Lord made the heavens and the earth."
God's Original Command Was Dominion, Not Prayer
- In Genesis 1:26, God's instruction to man was to subdue and have dominion — He never commanded Adam to pray.
- God wanted man to learn how to access what God had already bestowed upon him; prayer was to arise from what man could not manage on his own.
- Most Christians have become beggars, relying entirely on petition while neglecting the spiritual authority they already carry.
"God never demanded them to pray. God wanted them to learn how to access what God bestowed upon them."
"Most Christians have become beggars thinking they're prayer warriors."
Prayer as a Result of the Fall
- Prayer in its current form was a consequence of the fall — before the fall, man accessed God through dominion, not petition.
- The way a believer prays reveals whether they are operating on the other side of the cross or still in a pre-redemption posture.
- If God has given you power to do something, the correct response is thanksgiving — not asking. Asking is for dimensions you have not yet subdued.
"Most of you don't understand that prayer was a result of the fall."
Why Satan Had No Power in the Garden
- Satan was present in the garden of Eden, yet God never warned Adam and Eve about him — because Satan controlled no spiritual dimension.
- Adam controlled the airways, the seas, and everything that moved on the ground — the prince of the power of the air could not exist because Adam controlled the air.
- Satan's rise to power did not happen in the garden — in the garden, he was just a snake with no ability to blind minds or infiltrate the communication between God and man.
"Satan did not control any spiritual dimension."
How Satan Became the God of This World
- When Adam and Eve sinned, they lost control of dimensions — Satan recognised those vacated realms and began controlling them.
- Demonic forces are only powerful to those who have surrendered spiritual control — witchcraft and oppression have no jurisdiction over a believer who controls their atmosphere.
- Satan never announces his control — he manipulates, and the believer simply experiences what appears to be bad luck or difficult circumstances.
"The demons that you think are powerful in your life, they are only powerful because they are controlling the dimensions. You are not."
Correcting False Doctrine About Satan
- Satan was not the worship leader of heaven — that is not in Scripture; the seraphim, not the cherubim, are the ones who sing holy day and night before God.
- Satan's plot to ascend to the high heavens in Ezekiel reveals he was never there — he had never even met God, and he was in a very low rank in the heavenly realm.
- Satan's plan against God while in heaven proves his ignorance of God's omniscience — even people on earth know God is watching; Satan, in heaven, did not.
"Stop giving the devil things that God never gave to him."
"The only one close to God is Jesus."
Man Exists in Three Realms
- Man is spirit, soul, and body — three distinct aspects of one person, each existing in a different realm or dimension simultaneously.
- The soul is spiritual in nature but is not the spirit — it exists in a completely different realm with its own set of realities, and it learns rather than innately knows.
- A person whose spirit is dead before God can still be physically animated and emotionally religious — but an encounter with God is only possible in the spirit.
"Man is spirit, soul and body. There is three of you in three different worlds that you need to control."
"Just because your body is animated and your soul feels religious doesn't mean you have encountered God because an encounter with God is only in the spirit."
The Case of Daniel: Survival Without Deliverance
- Daniel was a righteous, prayerful man highly esteemed by God — but he never controlled the spiritual atmosphere of Babylon, and as a result demonic forces repeatedly tried to destroy him.
- God answered Daniel's prayers in the spirit, but Daniel could not perceive the answer — because his spiritual atmosphere was controlled by another entity, not by him.
- Gabriel was held back for 21 days by the prince of Persia — a demonic entity that controlled that dimension and had the jurisdiction to prevent even a high angel from passing through.
"Even though he was a prayerful man even though he was highly esteemed of God he still did not take care of the spiritual issues that was surrounding his life."
Survival Versus Deliverance
- Daniel survived — he lived to old age in Babylon, served every successive government, remained faithful — but he was still a slave.
- You can serve God all your life and go to heaven, but if you never controlled your spiritual atmosphere, you will struggle all your life.
- When you control your atmosphere by the Spirit of God, hard work turns to hardly working — anything you do will bear results, and there will be no opposition in the spirit.
"Don't mistake survival for deliverance."
Key Definitions
Dimension — A distinct spiritual realm or level of reality in which a specific aspect of existence operates; each requires active control by its rightful authority.
Dominion — The God-given authority and capacity to subdue and rule over spiritual realms and the physical earth — man's original assignment, not prayer.
Creating — Bringing something into existence from God's spiritual substance, occurring before time and outside the physical realm.
Making — The process of manifesting what was spiritually created into physical, visible form — placing something from one dimension into another.
Soul — The aspect of man that is spiritual in nature but distinct from the spirit; it exists in its own realm, it learns, it receives understanding, and it experiences salvation.
Survival — Living through adversity and remaining faithful to God while still under spiritual oppression — the condition of a believer who prays but does not control their atmosphere.
Deliverance — Full freedom from demonic influence, achieved not merely through prayer but through a believer actively taking control of the spiritual dimensions of their life.
Key Takeaways
- Life is primarily spiritual, and the visible world is made from invisible substance — this means every physical struggle has a spiritual root that must be addressed at the spiritual level, not just the natural.
- God's original design for man was dominion, not dependence — prayer that never moves beyond petition reveals a believer who has not yet taken hold of the spiritual authority restored to them in Christ.
- Satan and demonic forces are only powerful where man has surrendered control of spiritual dimensions — they have no independent authority; they occupy vacated territory.
- Man exists in three simultaneous realms — spirit, soul, and body — each requiring active engagement — neglecting any one of them leaves that dimension open to occupation by an opposing force.
- Faithfulness and prayer are not sufficient substitutes for spiritual atmospheric control — Daniel's life proves that a man can be righteous, be used by God, and still suffer under demonic domination because he never reclaimed his spiritual territory.
Reflection Questions
- In which areas of your life are you praying about things God has already given you authority to act on — and what would it look like to move from petition to dominion in those areas?
- Are there recurring struggles — in your finances, health, relationships, or ministry — that may indicate your spiritual atmosphere is being controlled by someone other than you?
- Daniel was righteous, faithful, and used by God — and yet he survived in Babylon rather than being delivered from it. Does this describe your walk with God? What have you not yet taken charge of spiritually?
- What false beliefs about Satan's power, position, or authority have shaped how you pray or how you engage spiritual warfare — and how does this teaching challenge those beliefs?
- What specific dimension of your life — physical, soulish, or spiritual — have you been neglecting, and what does controlling that dimension look like in practical terms this week?
