Privileges in the Kingdom: Positioning, Righteousness, and the Life of Christ Within You
The privileges God has ordained for His children are not automatic — they are accessed through death to self, alignment with Christ living within you, and righteousness before God.
There are privileges in the kingdom of God that most believers are unaware of, and not every believer walks in the same measure of those privileges. God does not treat everyone the same, and understanding how divine positioning, righteousness, and the indwelling life of Christ determine the reach of your prayer and your destiny is essential to rising into what God has called you to be.
Teaching Overview
- God has favorites — not everyone in the kingdom is positioned equally, and spiritual privilege is determined by righteousness, capacity, and alignment with God.
- Prayer builds character, but situations build capacity — God preserves you through difficulty so that your capacity can increase and you can take advantage of spiritual privileges.
- Faith is not something you do — it is something that becomes part of your nature; the faith that attracts God is the faith of Christ living within you, not your own.
- Dying to self means embracing your death in Christ so that it is no longer you living, but Christ living in you — and when Christ prays through you, God responds to Himself.
- The doctrine of men is killing people's destinies — God's righteousness is unto Himself, not unto men's standards, and He uses people regardless of their circumstances to fulfill His sovereign purposes.
Key Distinctions
| Prayer | Faith | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A verbal act of communication directed toward God | An identity — something that becomes part of your nature and reactions |
| What it builds | Character | Must become the faith of Christ within you to produce results |
| What God responds to | Faith — not the act of prayer itself | Faith that is the faith of the Son of God |
| Common misunderstanding | That more prayer automatically produces results | That quoting or memorizing scripture equals faith |
| When it is effective | When it flows from righteousness and the indwelling Christ | When the Word has become flesh — part of you — not just known |
| Character | Capacity | |
|---|---|---|
| What builds it | Prayer | Situations and difficulty |
| What it produces | Moral formation and discipline | The ability to bear and steward what God wants to give |
| Can God bypass it? | No — capacity must be present before privilege can be accessed | No — God preserves you through situations specifically to build it |
| Doctrine of Men | God's Own Representation | |
|---|---|---|
| Source | Human imagination of what God ought to be like | God's own word and His individual purpose for each person |
| Effect on destiny | Kills people who have been destined by God to reach a certain place | Liberates — God uses people regardless of their circumstances |
| Example | Religion declaring Rahab disqualified by the Law of Moses | God declaring Rahab righteous — to Himself — and directing her rescue |
| Righteousness unto God | Righteousness unto Men | |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | God's own definition — alignment with His purpose and heart | Legal or religious codes constructed by men |
| Example | Rahab hiding the spies — God called her righteous | The Law of Moses would have demanded she be stoned |
| Who determines it | God alone | Religious and legal systems |
| Effect | Opens spiritual privilege and divine protection | Can condemn and disqualify people from their destiny |
| The Law of Moses | The Law of God | |
|---|---|---|
| Origin | Moses — given permission by God but constituted by Moses to restructure a displaced nation | The Ten Commandments — summarized in love |
| Purpose | To bring order to a people who had lived in Egypt for 400 years and adapted foreign ways | To govern all who walk in love — anyone walking in love will not break any of them |
| Scope | Hundreds of specific statutes, some divine and some not | General, eternal, and universal |
| Religion | God's Individual Purpose | |
|---|---|---|
| Approach to people | Assumes it knows how God ought to deal with people | Moves sovereignly according to His own plan for each life |
| Effect | People become managers of God's destiny for others | God uses people from all circumstances — including sin — for His redemptive plan |
| Who it controls | Those who have not died to self — still influenced by what people say | Those who are dead to self and alive to Christ are freed from this control |
| Faith as Identity | Faith as Action | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Faith that has become part of your nature and reactions | Quoting scripture, memorizing verses, invoking faith as a technique |
| What produces results | The Word becoming flesh — part of you | Produces nothing if the Word has not become part of you |
| What God responds to | The faith of the Son of God living within you | Does not attract God's response on its own |
You Are a Positioned and Purposeful Person
- Every believer is strategically placed by God — not just for themselves, but for a whole community of people whose lives they are meant to transform.
- God protects your life because there is a destiny within you — you are alive because He is guarding something He intends to accomplish through you.
- Being a benefit to others — physically, materially, and spiritually — is how the children of God demonstrate their identity beyond words.
"You are an answer to somebody's prayer."
"When you cannot benefit people, you are not of kingdom use."
God Has Favorites — Understanding Kingdom Privilege
- God does not treat everyone the same and does not minister to everyone the same — acknowledging this is the beginning of knowing how to position yourself in His good graces.
- Spiritual privilege is not automatic — it is accessible to those who have positioned themselves through righteousness, capacity, and alignment with God.
- Jacob was loved by God yet received no intervention until he repositioned himself — love alone does not activate God's hand on your behalf.
"God has favorites."
"God is not intervening for Jacob. Until Jacob positions himself to become God's favorite."
Prayer, Faith, Character, and Capacity
- Prayer builds character, but situations build capacity — if you have not gone through anything, you do not have the capacity to receive what you are praying for.
- God measures your capacity to bear what you are asking for before He releases it — your positioning spiritually must match what He intends to give you.
- Faith is not an act you perform — it is something that must become part of your nature; the Word must become flesh in your reactions before it can produce anything.
"Prayer builds character but not capacity. Situation build capacity."
"If that word has not become part of you and your reactions, you have no faith. It doesn't matter how much scripture you know."
The Righteousness Privilege
- The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much — righteousness opens a dimension where God answers prayer before others.
- Faith is what attracts God — not the volume or frequency of prayer; God responds to the faith of the Son of God, not the effort of a person.
- Even a lost person calling out to God in genuine faith receives a response — what moves God is not religious performance but the positioning of faith.
"The prayer of a righteous person matters most."
"Your prayer is not what God is listening to. It is faith that attracts God."
Dying to Self and the Indwelling Christ
- Dying to self means denying every tendency of the heart that is contrary to what Jesus has accomplished — it is the soul, the self, choosing to align with Christ rather than its own inclinations.
- God established law for the living — but when believers embrace their death in Christ, the law no longer has claim over them, and generational curses and cycles lose their hold.
- When Christ lives within you, your prayer is no longer a mortal calling to God — it is God within you calling to God, and the deep calls to the deep.
"You don't owe the devil anything because no one collects anything from the dead."
"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."
The Gospel Does Not End at the Cross
- The cross was not the conclusion of the gospel — it was the beginning; the full work of Christ includes His life now living within believers.
- Jesus found a strategy to make God hear His people — He said He would live inside them so that when they open their mouths to pray, it is no longer them speaking but Him.
- When you minister to others from this place, you are ministering Jesus Himself — "I was hungry and you fed Me" is not poetry; it is the incarnational reality of Christ in you.
"The cross was the beginning."
"Deep calleth unto deep. But will always be moved by himself, not by a person."
The Doctrine of Men vs. God's Sovereign Purpose
- There are two doctrines at war in the church — the doctrine of men about what God ought to be like, and God's own representation of Himself in His word.
- Religion kills destiny because it appoints people as managers of God's individual purpose for others — it tells people what is acceptable in their personal journey without knowing what God intends to do with them.
- Those who have not died to self are still controlled by what people say — and God cannot give them what He truly wants to give them while they remain under that influence.
"The doctrine of men and their imagination of God is killing people who have been destined by God to get to a certain place."
"Religion is killing people simply because people have now become the managers of God's destiny for others."
Rahab and Samson: God's Righteousness Is Unto Him
- Rahab was declared righteous by God — not by the Law of Moses — while she was still in her circumstances, because God's standard of righteousness is unto Himself, not unto men.
- The Law of Moses was constituted by Moses to restructure a displaced people — it was not entirely the law of God; the law of God is the Ten Commandments, summarized in love.
- God's sovereign plan for Rahab was in motion before she understood it — she ended up as the great-grandmother of David and an ancestor of Jesus Christ, positioned there by divine design.
"Righteousness is unto God, not unto men."
"If he cannot take a mess and turn it into a message... how does that make him God?"
Key Definitions
Righteousness — Being in right standing before God according to His own standard — not the legal or religious standard of men; God declared Rahab righteous to Himself while men's law would have condemned her.
Capacity — The God-given ability to bear and steward what He desires to release; it is built through situations and difficulty, not through prayer or worship alone.
Dying to self — Denying every tendency of the heart that is contrary to what Jesus has accomplished, so that Christ — not the soul's natural inclinations — governs every reaction and decision.
Faith (as identity) — Not a technique or action but a transformed nature; faith is the Word becoming flesh in your reactions; "You don't invoke faith, faith becomes part of you."
The Law of Moses — A body of statutes constituted by Moses — with God's permission — to restructure the nation of Israel after 400 years in Egypt; distinct from the law of God, which is the Ten Commandments summarized in love.
The Doctrine of Men — Human imagination and religious assumption about what God ought to be like and how He ought to deal with people — in contrast to God's own representation of Himself in His word and His individual sovereign purpose for each life.
Key Takeaways
- God has favorites, and spiritual privilege is determined by positioning — understanding this prevents passivity and motivates believers to pursue the righteousness and alignment that open greater access to God.
- Prayer builds character, but situations build capacity — enduring difficulty is not a sign of God's absence; it is God's method of expanding your capacity to carry what He wants to give you.
- The faith that moves God is the faith of Christ living within you, not your own — until the Word becomes part of your nature and reactions, no amount of scripture memorization or prayer volume will produce results.
- Dying to self is not denial of personhood — it is the death that sets you free from law, curses, and the opinions of men — when you are dead in Christ, nothing the enemy claims over you has legal standing.
- God's righteousness is unto Himself, not unto men's standards — He can anoint, use, and declare righteous people that religion has written off, because His sovereign purpose is not managed by human doctrine.
Reflection Questions
- In what areas of your life are you still functioning in your own faith rather than the faith of Christ — trying to do something rather than allowing something to become part of you?
- Where have you allowed the doctrine of men — what others say is acceptable for someone like you — to limit what God is trying to do in and through your life?
- If prayer builds character but situations build capacity, how are you responding to the difficult situations God has allowed? Are you building capacity or resisting the process?
- What would change in your prayers, your confidence, and your spiritual authority if you genuinely believed that when you open your mouth, it is Christ within you speaking to the Father?
- Is there an area where God has declared you righteous — for a purpose — that you have dismissed because religion or the opinions of others have told you that you are disqualified?
Prayers and Declarations
After teaching on the voice of the righteous and the dimension of prayer that God responds to:
"I prayed that after today your voice will have waiting in the spirit. I receive your voice from the Spirit. I receive that when you call on to God, God will respond."
