Spiritual Words: The Divine Language That Commands Creation
Spiritual Words · Part 1 of 3
The words you speak are only as powerful as the Spirit behind them — learn to carry the language of God.
Every believer has the capacity to speak — but not every word spoken carries the weight of heaven. There is a profound difference between carnal speech and spiritual words, and that difference determines whether creation responds, whether demons flee, whether healing manifests, and whether God is truly heard. This teaching unlocks the divine intelligence embedded in spiritual language and reveals why speaking from the Spirit — not just from the mouth — is the foundation of prophetic power.
Teaching Overview
- The DNA of God is released through spiritual words, not carnal language — and only spiritual words command a response from creation.
- There is a fundamental distinction between Scripture and the Word: Scripture is the testimony of Jesus; the Word is Jesus Himself.
- The word of God, as a living person, separates soul from spirit — enabling believers to discern between carnal and spiritual expression.
- God answers before you call, because communication with Him operates through spiritual words, not natural speech.
- Prophetic function is God's will for every believer, because the prophetic reveals what is hidden in the heavenly realm.
Key Distinctions
| Soul | Spirit | Scripture | The Word | Carnal Words | Spiritual Words | Serpent | Dragon | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | The inner self that can speak from flesh, emotion, or self-interest | The reborn inner man in direct communion with God | The written testimony and record pointing to Jesus | Jesus Himself — the living, active Person of God | Words spoken from natural intent without divine conviction | Words that carry the DNA and authority of God | The devil in his early, manageable form | The devil in his fully developed, destructive form |
| Language it produces | Soulish, self-motivated speech | Spirit-led declarations that align with heaven | Points the reader toward the Word | Is the foundation and source of all Scripture | Natural speech that does not move spiritual realities | Speech that nature and creation are compelled to respond to | A threat you could "step on" — early-stage spiritual opposition | A formidable, fire-breathing adversary — late-stage opposition you failed to address early |
| How it is discerned | By the word, which pierces and divides soul from spirit | By the word, which reveals the spirit's true intent | By knowing the Author — Jesus — to understand its meaning | By the Spirit, who is introduced through the Word | By the absence of spiritual results — things do not respond | By results — creation, situations, and bodies respond | Recognized and destroyed in the beginning, in the Genesis season | What remains when the serpent is left to grow unchallenged |
| What happens if neglected | The soul speaks and is mistaken for the spirit | The spirit is silent and the flesh fills the vacuum | Misunderstood and misapplied without the living Word | Without the Word, the Holy Spirit cannot be known or received | No spiritual change occurs regardless of volume or frequency | Without them, prayer produces no transformation | Becomes a dragon — a far more dangerous and entrenched enemy | The consequence of every believer who failed to deal with the enemy early |
The Nature and Authority of Spiritual Words
- The DNA of God is in His Spirit, and that DNA is transferred through words that are spiritual — not carnal.
- Your words carry your DNA; they reveal who you truly are, just as blood reveals what is happening within the body.
- Nature does not respond to natural words — creation was made out of spiritual words and only answers to spiritual words.
"The DNA of God is in His Spirit. But the DNA of God inside of our human being is transferred by words that are spiritual."
"Nature does not respond to natural words. They respond to spiritual words because they were created out of spiritual words. They only answer to spiritual words."
The Difference Between Scripture and the Word
- The Word is Jesus Himself — alive, active, and powerful — while Scripture is the testimony of Jesus, not the Word itself.
- All Scripture points you to the Word, not to words — and without knowing the Author, Scripture cannot be properly understood.
- Just as the content of a page — not the paper itself — holds value, it is the living Word within Scripture that is precious.
"The word is Jesus. Scripture is the testimony of Jesus. There is a difference between Scripture and the word."
"A lot of people don't know the word, they are only no scripture, but they don't understand scripture because they don't know the author of the scriptures."
The Living Word Divides Soul and Spirit
- Hebrews 4:12 declares that the word of God is living — meaning it is a Person, not a text, because only living things produce life.
- The word of God pierces to the dividing of soul and spirit, revealing the true intentions behind words and actions.
- When you truly have Jesus, you gain the discernment to distinguish what is spoken from the soul versus what is spoken from the spirit.
"When you truly have Jesus, you will bring a distinction between the soul and the spirit. Meaning words that are spoken of the soul, you will know. Words that are spoken of the spirit, you will know."
God Communicates Through Spiritual Language — Not Natural Speech
- Isaiah 65:24 reveals that God answers before you call and hears while you are still speaking — because spiritual communication transcends natural words.
- God does not answer carnal prayer because carnal prayer is not speaking His language.
- He sent His Word to heal — meaning a sick body must hear the word of God for itself to respond, not merely a person's ears hearing a promise.
"Before they call, I will answer. And while they are still speaking, I will hear."
"God does not answer carnal prayer. He doesn't listen to it because it is not speaking his language that he wants to answer."
The Power of Intent and Conviction Behind Words
- Not all words are powerful, and not all speakers of the word are powerful — what matters is the intent and the spirit behind what is spoken.
- Faith is not action alone — faith is also conviction, because you cannot act on what you are not convicted on.
- Words spoken at the extreme of joy, sadness, or anger carry unusual force because they are drawn from the depths of the heart.
"It's not about what you're saying, it is the intent and the spirit behind what you're saying."
"It is not about the loudness. It is not about how you are shouting. It is about what is inside your shout."
Recognising When the Holy Spirit Speaks Through You
- There is a dimension of spiritual maturity in which the Holy Spirit Himself speaks through a believer — not the believer speaking on their own.
- Peter's declaration that Jesus would never die was Satan speaking; Peter's response to Ananias and Sapphira was the Holy Spirit speaking — both through the same man.
- Every believer must develop the discernment to know whether it is themselves speaking or the Holy Spirit speaking through them.
"When you speak, you must know if it is you speaking or if it is the Holy Spirit speaking through you."
Dealing With the Enemy Early
- The devil is called a serpent in Genesis — a snake you can crush underfoot; by Revelation, he has become that old serpent, that dragon.
- If the enemy is not confronted and defeated in the beginning of a matter, he grows into a far more formidable adversary.
- The believer is meant to bring the battle to the devil — not wait to be attacked — because it is always easier to kill a snake than a dragon.
"Killing a snake is easier than killing a dragon. Many of you are dealing with dragons because you fail to kill the snake."
"You have to learn to bring the battle to the devil. Stop allowing the devil to attack you. You should be the one that is attacking him."
The Prophetic Is God's Will for Every Believer
- It is God's will that every believer — regardless of office — functions in the prophetic, because the prophetic reveals what is hidden in the heavenly realm.
- There are truths God desires to speak that cannot be found in Scripture — such as specific direction for a city, a family, or a season — and these require prophetic hearing.
- The goal of prophetic development is that the believer is led by the Holy Spirit in every step, so that many people are blessed through them.
"It is God's will that every single person, whether you're an evangelist, whether you're a pastor, whether you're a teacher, whether you're an apostle for you to function in the prophetic because the prophetic is the revealer of things that are hidden in the heavenly realm."
Understanding Christ's Sacrifice Through Spiritual Words
- Those who do not understand spiritual words cannot understand who Jesus is, why He came, or who He was offered to in His sacrifice.
- Jesus became sin on the cross — and God, who is just, must punish sin — so He punished sin in the body of His own Son rather than in mankind.
- Discipline and correction are expressions of love and justice, not evil — just as a father corrects a son because he loves him and wants his future to be great.
"If you claim you have the word of God, and you hear a man of God telling you that God sacrificed himself and to himself for the forgiveness of people's sins, and you say, that's impossible — you don't know the word."
Key Definitions
Spiritual Words — Words that carry the DNA and authority of God, spoken with divine intent and conviction, to which creation and spiritual realities are compelled to respond.
The Word — Jesus Himself; the living, active Person of God — distinct from Scripture, which is the written testimony that points to Him.
Scripture — The written testimony of Jesus — precious not because of the paper it is written on, but because of the living Word its content reveals.
The Prophetic — The function by which hidden things in the heavenly realm are revealed; God's intended capacity for every believer regardless of ministry office.
Soul — The inner self capable of generating speech, emotion, and intention that may appear spiritual but originates from the flesh rather than from God's Spirit.
Conviction — The spiritual certainty that must undergird faith; without it, words and actions carry no real spiritual weight, because you cannot act on what you are not convicted on.
Key Takeaways
- Spiritual words carry the DNA of God and are the only language creation responds to — volume, emotion, and religious language do not move spiritual realities; only words spoken in divine conviction and intent do.
- The Word is Jesus, not the Bible — failing to know the Author of Scripture means you will misread Scripture and remain ignorant of God's true nature and mission.
- The word of God separates soul from spirit in the believer — without this division, you will unknowingly speak from your flesh while believing you are speaking by the Spirit.
- God answers before you call because He communicates through spiritual words, not natural speech — this means your spirit communicates with God even before your mouth opens.
- Dealing with the enemy early prevents him from becoming a dragon — what could have been crushed as a serpent becomes a fire-breathing adversary when confronted too late.
Reflection Questions
- When you pray or make declarations, are you speaking from genuine spiritual conviction — or from emotional intensity and religious habit? What is the difference in your experience?
- Do you know the Word — Jesus Himself — or do you primarily know Scripture as text? How would knowing the Author more deeply change the way you read and apply what you read?
- Is there an area of your life — your finances, your family, your body — that has not responded to your words? What does this teaching reveal about why that may be?
- Are there serpents in your life that you have tolerated and allowed to grow into dragons? What would it look like to confront them now rather than later?
- Have you ever experienced a moment when you recognised it was the Holy Spirit speaking through you rather than yourself? What marked the difference — and how can you cultivate more of that?
