The Foundation of Prophetic Mysteries: How the Fear of the Lord Unlocks God's Secrets

Teaching by Prophet Lovy L. Elias · Watch on YouTube · 8 July 2021

The fear of the Lord is not an emotion — it is a transformative spiritual state that positions believers to receive God's secrets, angelic protection, and prophetic revelation.

The prophetic is a revelatory gift — insight into God's mind and the happenings of the Spirit. Yet access to God's secrets is not automatic. It is gated by a spiritual reality most believers have misunderstood: the fear of the Lord. This teaching lays the foundation for understanding how reverence for God unlocks the prophetic, attracts angelic activity, and brings divine deliverance into every area of life.

Teaching Overview

  1. The prophetic is a revelatory gift that always points back to Jesus Christ, and true prophets are distinguished not by accuracy but by the spirit behind what they reveal.
  2. The fear of the Lord is not an emotion or a discipline but a Spirit — one of the sevenfold manifestations of the Holy Spirit — that positions believers to receive God's secrets.
  3. Walking in the fear of the Lord brings angelic encampment, divine deliverance, and the stillness that overcomes anxiety and panic.

The Nature of the Prophetic Gift

  • The prophetic is a revelatory gift — it is insight into God's mind and the happenings of the Spirit.
  • The Spirit of prophecy testifies of Christ — all prophetic revelation ultimately points back to Jesus Christ, the Lord and King of glory.
  • True prophets are not gifted individuals — they are the gift itself, given to the Church through the Lord Jesus Christ.

"The Spirit of prophecy testifies of Christ, meaning that in seeing all the things that are happening, it all points back to one person, the Lord and the King of glory Jesus Christ, whom there is no other, but only Him."

Distinguishing True Prophets from False Prophets

  • A false prophet can prophesy with accuracy and precision, operating through a spirit of divination.
  • The test of a true prophet is not what they reveal, but who the revelation points to.
  • The woman with the spirit of divination in Acts accurately identified Paul and Silas, yet the spirit behind her words was demonic — positioning itself to avoid being cast out.

"You will not know them by what they reveal. You will know them by who it points to."

The Fear of the Lord as a Spirit, Not a Feeling

  • The fear of the Lord is not what you do — it is who you become through what the Holy Spirit does in you.
  • The fear of the Lord is one of the sevenfold manifestations of the Spirit of God, listed explicitly in Isaiah 11:2.
  • Without the sevenfold spirits operating in a believer, no aspect of God can be fully manifested through them.

"The fear of God is not what you do. It's who you become by what the Holy Spirit does in you."

What the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord Produces

  • One key attribute of the spirit of the fear of the Lord is a deep, inward aversion to sin — not by compulsion or instruction, but by spiritual nature.
  • Every individual in Scripture to whom angels appeared in a good sense — Cornelius, Zacharias, Manoah — is described as fearing evil and loving God.
  • Speaking in tongues or operating in the spirit of might alone does not constitute having God's secrets — the full sevenfold manifestation is required.

"When you see sinning, you want to throw up — not because you want to condemn anybody. But inside of you there is something that is so opposed to sinning, not by force, not because of what you are told. But it's just something that doesn't connect with you."

The Fear of the Lord and God's Secrets

  • Psalm 25:14 establishes the gateway: the secrets of the Lord are given to those who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant.
  • God looks among humanity for those who carry the spirit of the fear of the Lord — those are the ones He can entrust with His secrets.
  • Knowing the secrets of God — what is coming, what the enemy is planning, what God is about to do — produces stillness and eliminates the spirit of fear and panic.

"The secrets of the Lord is with them that fear Him."

The Fear of the Lord Brings Angelic Encampment

  • Psalm 34:7 declares that the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and delivers them.
  • The fear of the Lord is therefore the primary pathway to deliverance — for oneself, for family, for every attached area of life.
  • Deliverance is not only dramatic confrontation — it also includes divine restraint: not going somewhere, not doing something, because the fear of the Lord held you back.

"If you want deliverance, if you desire deliverance, if you seek deliverance, fear the Lord."

The Mighty Feats of Prophets and Angelic Assistance

  • The greatest prophets in Scripture who accomplished mighty feats did so in partnership with angels.
  • The fear of the Lord brings angels into a believer's life to assist them in accomplishing those same mighty feats.
  • When the angels of God begin to move in a believer's life, transformation begins across every dimension of that life.

"The greatest prophets in the Bible — those that did mighty feats — they walked with angels. They moved with angels. So the fear of the Lord brings angels into your life that are going to assist you in order for you to do those same mighty feats that they accomplished."

Key Definitions

The Prophetic — The revelatory gift that grants insight into God's mind and the happenings of the Spirit; it always points back to Jesus Christ as its ultimate subject and source.

True Prophet — Not a gifted person but the gift itself — the gift of God given to the Church through the Lord Jesus Christ.

Spirit of Divination — A counterfeit spirit that enables false prophets to prophesy with accuracy, mimicking genuine prophetic revelation while operating under demonic authority.

Fear of the Lord — One of the sevenfold manifestations of the Holy Spirit; not an emotion or a practice, but a transformative spiritual state the Holy Spirit produces in a believer, characterized by reverence, hatred of sin, and openness to God's secrets.

Spirit of Fear — The opposite of the fear of the Lord; a spirit of panic and anxiety that enters when believers do not know God's secrets, producing restlessness and dread about what is coming.

Sevenfold Spirits of God — The seven manifestations of the Holy Spirit listed in Isaiah 11:2 — the Spirit of the Lord, wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and the fear of the Lord — each adding something specific in a believer in order for something of God to be manifested through them.

Key Takeaways

  • The prophetic always points to Christ — Any revelatory word or spirit that does not ultimately direct attention to Jesus Christ is not of God, regardless of its accuracy.
  • The fear of the Lord is a gift of the Holy Spirit, not a human discipline — Believers must seek this spirit as one of the sevenfold manifestations, because no aspect of God can be fully manifested without it.
  • God's secrets bring stillness, not anxiety — When the fear of the Lord positions a believer to receive what God is doing, panic and fear of the future are replaced by supernatural calm and confidence.
  • Angelic encampment is the promise to those who fear the Lord — Deliverance, protection, and divine assistance in accomplishing destiny are all tied directly to walking in the fear of the Lord.
  • Deliverance includes divine restraint — One of the most overlooked forms of angelic deliverance is being kept from doing something harmful — the fear of the Lord is a shield that operates from the inside out.

Reflection Questions

  1. When you think about the fear of the Lord, does it feel like an obligation or a spiritual reality the Holy Spirit has produced in you? What does your answer reveal about where you currently stand with this spirit?
  2. In what areas of your life are you experiencing anxiety, panic, or uncertainty about what is coming? What would change if you walked in the stillness that comes from knowing God's secrets?
  3. Considering that you will know a prophet by who they point to — not by the accuracy of what they reveal — how are you currently evaluating the voices you sit under and allow to speak into your life?
  4. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and delivers them. Are there areas of your life where you are seeking deliverance through other means, while the primary gateway — the fear of the Lord — remains undeveloped?
  5. What specific step can you take this week to pursue the spirit of the fear of the Lord — not as a behaviour to perform, but as a gift to earnestly seek from the Holy Spirit?

Prayers and Declarations

Prayer for the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord

"I thank you, Lord God, that your people are, God, accept the spirit of the fear of the Lord. I pray Father, that they would receive that spirit, Lord God, and they would have such reverence for you Lord Jesus that they would even tremble at the thought of doing something against our Father — that they would be led by the fear of the Lord which is the beginning of all knowledge. I thank you for that."

"The people of God, Lord God, are catching this spirit. I thank you, Lord God, that they walk with the understanding of who the Lord is, that He is mighty. Our Lord is great. He is a mighty deliverer. Thank you, Father, for the people of God, that they are catching this spirit, that they are walking in a new reverence, Lord God."

"Today, in this moment, Lord Jesus — I thank you for this impartation, Lord God. That as they walk in the fear of the Lord, Lord God, that they would step into a place where You trust them to speak to them, that You make clear the secrets of the Lord. That they may say, I was with the Lord. I stood aside from my enemies. I stood aside from my issues. I decided to pray. I went before God and I prayed. And I had fear and reverence of Him that I took the moment to pray. And God shares His secrets with His beloved. He shares the secrets of the prophetic."

"Father, I pray for your people, Lord. I pray, Father, that knowledge begins to enter them now. Father, may they begin to know You like they have never known You before, O Lord. May their revelation and their knowledge of You, Father, grow deeper, O Lord. May their roots in You be deep, Father, in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus."

"Father, I thank You for this new thing that You are doing in their lives. I thank You, Father, that You are touching each and every individual on this live. I thank You, Father, for the revelation that is beginning to be poured into them, Lord. I thank You, Father, for Your secrets that You're revealing to them. I thank You, Father, for Your ways that You're making known to them. Just as You made Your ways known to Moses, Father, I thank You, Father, that You make Your ways known unto them. I thank You, Father, that even the secrets of the Spirit are being revealed to them now — the secrets of the Spirit — so that they may defeat every plan of the enemy against them, so that they may understand each and every way of the enemy, Father, so that they may not fall into his trap. I thank You, Father, that this knowledge is resting on them, in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus."

"Father, I pray that they will put You first in everything that they do, O Lord. I pray, Father, that they will acknowledge You, Father, in everything that they do, Father. May their reverence for You increase. May their fear of You increase, Father, in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus. May they know, Father, that You are their God. May they know, Father, that You are in control."

"Father, when they wake up in the morning, may they not be the same as they were when they were sleeping. The transformation takes place, Father — even in their sleep, the transformation takes place. Father, may it be evident in their life. May it be evident, Father, as You have visited in this day — may it be evident, Father, that they have received knowledge from You, O Lord. May it be evident for all to see. May it be evident in each and every area of their lives."

Final Prayer for Deliverance

"Father, may Your angels encamp us. Father, may Your angels encamp my family — may they surround my career, may they surround my business, may they surround my health, may they surround my relationships. Father, may it bring deliverance into my life. May the angel of the Lord bring deliverance into my life — may He bring deliverance to everything that is attached to me, may He bring deliverance to my health, deliverance to my mind. The fear of the Lord — you already have this now. You already have an understanding of the reverence and the fear of the Lord. That is already done."

Prayer Activation

"Let us all pray. Let's begin to pray."

"Father, we thank You, Lord, for the angels that surround us. We thank You, Father, for the angels that will work with us, Lord. We thank You, Father, for the angels that will watch us — God, as the protectors in every area of our lives. Father, may the angels begin to move in our lives. May they begin to surround us, Father, in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus. May they form a hedge of protection in our lives. May they form walls of protection in our lives, in the mighty and powerful name of the Lord Jesus. Father, let Your angels surround us now. Father, let Your angels begin to move in our lives now."

"Father, may Your angels deliver us from every chapter of the enemy. May Your angels deliver us from every plan of the enemy. Every wicked plan — every form is blocked. Father, may Your angels deliver me now. Every spirit that is coming against me and my family — Father, may Your angels deliver now."

"Father, let Your angels fight my battles. Father, not by my own strength, O Lord. Father, let Your angels fight for me, O Lord."

"Those battles that I cannot see — Father, let Your angels go forth. Father, let Your angels go forth. Father, let them minister to my destiny partners. Let them minister to those that are connected to my career, those that are connected to my business, and those that are connected to my ministry. Father, let Your angels begin to minister to them now."

Closing Prayer and Blessing

"Father, I thank You so much for Your people of God. I thank You for the fear of the Lord — that they would truly seek to fear Him and truly figure out for themselves, what does that mean in my life? How can I fear the Lord? How can I protect my relationship with Him and honour Him in many ways. I thank You so much. We love You so much. We cherish You. I just pray that You would catch what we are saying. Some things aren't taught — you just catch them. They're caught. So I pray you catch the spirit that rolls with this family, and that you would fear the Lord. In Jesus' mighty name. Amen. Let it be unto you by your faith. Amen."
