The Greater and the Better: Positioning Yourself to Receive the Blessing That Transforms

The Greater and the Better: Positioning Yourself to Receive the Blessing That Transforms

Teaching by Prophet Lovy L. Elias · Watch on YouTube · 22 January 2024

The blessing that changes your life is hidden inside a person — and only those who understand spiritual authority will find it.

God has deliberately hidden His greatest blessings within anointed human vessels rather than distributing them directly from heaven. To receive the blessing that transforms your life, you must understand an immutable law of the spirit: the less is blessed by the better — and position yourself accordingly.

Teaching Overview

  1. God hides His transforming blessing inside anointed human vessels, not in direct heavenly distribution alone.
  2. The Holy Spirit prepares and leads you to truth, but an anointed person perfects you — rejecting this mechanism limits your growth.
  3. God's love for you does not automatically produce blessing; blessing is tied to spiritual positioning and birthright.
  4. Christians are not equal in grace — the less is always blessed by the better, and this law cannot be contradicted.
  5. Honoring graces greater than your own is the gateway through which blessing flows to you.

Key Distinctions

The GreaterThe Lesser
What it isThe anointed vessel carrying higher grace, spiritual authority, and blessingThe one positioned to receive blessing from a greater vessel
Role in the blessingImparts and blesses — "my soul will bless you"Receives the impartation by positioning and honor
Can be contradicted? No — "without all contradiction, the less is blessed by the better"No — the lesser cannot generate blessing above the grace given to them
How it is recognizedNot always by outward appearance — God hides treasure in unlikely placesRequires spiritual sight, not carnal wisdom or logic
What blocks the flowN/ADishonor, self-estimation, dismissing spiritual authority
God's LoveGod's Blessing
What it isGod's affection and election set upon a personThe tangible spiritual endowment and birthright that changes a life
Automatic?Yes — God can love you unconditionallyNo — blessing requires proper positioning and channels
ExampleGod loved JacobJacob did not have the blessing birthright until he positioned himself to receive it
Can exist without the other?Yes — God loved Jacob while Esau held the blessing birthrightYes — Esau held the blessing without being God's chosen
The Holy Spirit's RoleThe Anointed Person's Role
FunctionPrepares, leads into all truth, teachesPerfects — brings the believer to spiritual maturity
JurisdictionLeads you to where truth isImparts the truth that completes you
Sufficient alone? No — prepares but does not perfectNot the source — serves as God's vessel for the blessing
What happens without it?You plateau at your current grace levelYou remain informed but not transformed
Scripture as SignpostScripture as Destination
What it isThe correct view — scripture points you to Jesus and truthThe incorrect view — treating Bible reading alone as the source of spiritual growth
Jesus' own words"You seek the scriptures thinking that in them you find life, but the scriptures only point to Me"
Result of misusePeople read the Bible five times cover to cover and never hear God's voice, see a vision, or heal anyoneInformed but powerless — information without transformation
Firstborn by BirthFirstborn by Spiritual Positioning
What it isNatural birth orderThe spiritual rank that carries the blessing of the firstborn
Can it change? No — birth order is fixedYes — Esau sold it; Jacob obtained it; Israel crossed his hands for Ephraim
Who determines it?Physical descentGod, through the spiritual exchange He honors
ExampleEsau was born firstJacob became the firstborn in spirit; Ephraim received the greater blessing over Manasseh

The Mystery of God's Hidden Wisdom

  • God deliberately hides His blessing inside vessels that carnal wisdom would dismiss or undermine.
  • Those who use logic alone to evaluate spiritual authority cannot access spiritual mysteries — this is precisely why critics display no real power.
  • God selects the unqualified to qualify themselves, so that it is clearly Him who chose them and not they who chose themselves.

"God hides the blessing that will change you inside somebody that you will undermine. That's the wisdom of God."

The Law of Spiritual Authority

  • God has established apostles, prophets, teachers, evangelists, and pastors for the perfection of the church — this is not optional architecture; it is God's design.
  • The Holy Spirit's role is preparatory — He leads you to truth; but an anointed person's role is to perfect you once you arrive there.
  • Angels cannot preach the gospel or lead people to salvation because the cross is not their experience — only those who have walked in your humanity can truly guide you into what they have experienced.

"It takes you to be foolish in order for you to be wise in the Spirit."

The Immutable Law: The Less Is Blessed by the Better

  • Hebrews 7:7 states without contradiction that the less is blessed by the better — this is an unbreakable law of the spirit that applies to every person in every season.
  • God's love for you and God's blessing upon you are not the same thing — God loved Jacob while Esau still held the blessing birthright.
  • You cannot generate blessing above the level of grace you currently carry; you must position yourself under those who carry greater grace.

"The less is blessed by the better. Without any contradiction."

Christians Are Not Equal in Grace

  • All believers are equal as created beings before God, but they are not equal in grace, in purpose, or in spiritual authority.
  • Spiritual reward is tied to sacrifice and faithfulness — those who give more, die more to self, and align more closely with God's purposes carry greater standing before God.
  • Equalizing grace would make God unjust — it would nullify the significance of sacrifice, obedience, and faithfulness.

"Not two Christians are the same."

Birthright, Positioning, and the Blessing That Cannot Be Moved

  • Esau despised his birthright — trading the most valuable spiritual possession for a bowl of soup — while Jacob understood its worth and acted to obtain it.
  • When Jacob and Esau exchanged positions spiritually, even Isaac's prophetic perception registered the change: the voice was Jacob's, but the hands felt like the firstborn's.
  • The blessing, once transferred through legitimate spiritual positioning, cannot be revoked — Isaac confirmed this when Esau came to him afterward.

"The only reason why God will not contest it is because spiritually they switched position. Because you cannot deceive God. So God agreed."

Honor as the Gateway to Growth

  • A man or woman who meets everything God has for them without honor will lose everything God has for them.
  • Hospitality and honor toward anointed vessels — even when their identity is not yet known — is the mechanism through which God's protection and blessing are released, as Lot's story demonstrates.
  • Growth in grace is impossible in isolation; you can maintain your current level alone, but you cannot advance beyond it without positioning yourself under greater grace.

"Learn to honor graces that are greater than yours. That is the way you grow in grace."

Key Definitions

The Greater — The anointed vessel who carries higher spiritual authority and grace, qualified by God to bless those beneath them in the order of grace.

The Less — The one who, by spiritual position and grace level, receives blessing from the greater; not an insult but a statement of order — and the less cannot bless themselves above their grace.

Birthright — The spiritual position and entitlement to blessing that can be held, lost, despised, or obtained through spiritual hunger and action; it is not fixed by natural birth alone but by spiritual positioning.

Perfection (of the saints) — Not moral perfection, but the spiritual maturation and completion that comes through anointed teachers, apostles, prophets, evangelists, and pastors — distinct from the Holy Spirit's preparatory role of leading into truth.

Honor — The posture of recognizing and esteeming a grace greater than your own; the gateway through which blessing flows from an anointed vessel to the one positioned beneath them.

Birthright vs. God's Love — These are distinct realities: God's love is His election and affection; birthright is the spiritual entitlement to blessing. God loved Jacob while Esau held the birthright — showing that love does not automatically transfer blessing.

Key Takeaways

  • God hides His transforming blessing inside anointed human vessels — This means your blessing may already be near you, concealed in someone your natural eyes would overlook or dismiss.
  • The Holy Spirit prepares you, but an anointed person perfects you — Rejecting the role of spiritual authority in your life is not independence; it is a refusal of the very mechanism God ordained for your growth.
  • God's love and God's blessing are not the same thing — You must actively position yourself to receive what God has already prepared, because affection alone does not release the birthright.
  • The less is always blessed by the better — without contradiction — This law cannot be reversed or bypassed; the only question is whether you are positioning yourself under the right greater.
  • Honor is the gateway to growth in grace — Dishonoring greater graces cuts off the flow of blessing; honoring them opens the channel through which transformation comes.

Reflection Questions

  1. Who are the anointed vessels God has placed in your life who carry greater grace — and are you positioning yourself under them, or maintaining a critical distance?
  2. In what areas have you been trying to "grow in God by yourself" — and what has that cost you spiritually?
  3. Is there a vessel God has placed in your path whom you have dismissed because of how they look, where they come from, or what they represent outwardly?
  4. Have you confused God's love for you with God's blessing — and what would change if you understood that blessing requires positioning, not just relationship?
  5. What specific act of honor toward a greater grace can you take this week, and what is the real reason you have held back from it?

Prayers and Declarations

"In the name of Jesus, become men and women of God of honor. Greatest Father, we thank you today for the reminder to hold on to our birthright. Thank you for the increase in our spirit to continue to be fortified in faith and strengthened in faith. Thank you for our Father who received wisdom and revelation and was able to impart to us today and to feed us today, that we may be strengthened today. As we go throughout the week, Father, help us to fight for our birthright. This year in 2024 is the year of the win. And we thank you now, Father, that we have been strengthened to fight for what is ours, to fight for our right, and not to give up easily. We thank you, Father, that this year, as we experience your win, that we will have no luck. We have nothing missing, lacking, or broken. Shalom shall be our portion. And we thank you now in Jesus' name, amen."
