Chosen: The Cost, the Process, and the Glory of Being Predestinated by God
Chosen · Part 2 of 2
Being chosen by God before creation is not the end of the journey — it is the beginning of a costly, refining process that demands your surrender.
You were not chosen by accident. Before you existed, God foreknew you, predestinated you, and set a course for your life to be conformed to the image of His Son. But the choice to yield to that process — to be broken, molded, and filled — belongs entirely to you. This is the tension at the heart of the calling: God's sovereign plan meets your free will, and what you do with that collision determines everything.
Teaching Overview
- You were foreknown and predestinated by God before creation to be conformed to the image of Christ — but the choice to submit to the molding process is yours alone.
- Getting closer to God does not make you better immediately; it exposes what was always there, and that exposure is not disqualification — it is the beginning of transformation.
- The goal of God's refining process is not to make a better version of you — it is to turn you into Christ, moving you from trying to do His will by effort to doing it by nature.
- The Holy Spirit must be continuously received, not just once — every season of suffering expands your capacity for a greater measure of the Spirit.
- Your primary assignment is not only personal growth but raising others, leaving behind a legacy that continues the purpose of God after you are gone.

God Blesses You in Order to Change You
- God does not send the blessing itself — He sends the moment in which the blessing can be received.
- When you lose things, God does not restore the exact things lost; He restores the season in which their equivalent or greater value can be harvested.
- Many believers try to change in order to be blessed, but the scriptural pattern is the reverse — God blesses you so that you will change.
"God wants to bless you in order for you to change."
The Prophetic Power of Praise
- Praise is not an attempt to entice God — it is a prophetic declaration made from having already seen the other side of your situation by the Spirit.
- Your spirit is taken by God to the other side to show you the way out; as you praise, your physical reality is drawn toward what your spirit has already seen.
- Faking praise produces no breakthrough, because true praise declares what God has already done — not what you are hoping He will do.
"If you haven't seen the other side, you are deceiving yourself."
Worship Versus Praise
- Praise can be stirred corporately; worship cannot, because worship is entirely dependent on your personal depth of revelation of who God is.
- You can encourage someone into praise by showing them what you see, but you cannot lead someone into worship if their revelation is limited.
- Worship is not about what God has done — it is about who He is to you personally.
"Worship is solely based on your experience with the Master himself."
You Were Foreknown Before You Existed
- God's foreknowledge of you preceded your existence — you were conversations with God before you were born into a body.
- You were not compelled to follow God by accident; there is a voice that has drawn you to Him because your journey with Jesus did not begin at your conversion.
- Before coming to earth, you were given a choice of which life to live, and you chose to glorify God — what now feels like struggle was, from the spiritual realm, a crown.
"You are conversations with God."
Glory: What It Means and Why God Needs Humanity
- Glory simply means "reflection of" — God has glorified us so that through us He can be seen and credited by men.
- God cannot receive glory without a human being on earth who stands and declares His name as the source of the miraculous.
- God cannot be fully contained even in heaven; He is omnipresent, manifested in all creation — and He chooses to express His virtues through people so that men will see beyond the person to God Himself.
"Never be ashamed to say I am God's glory."
The Cost of Being Conformed to Christ
- To be predestinated is God's sovereign plan; but the choice to submit to the molding — to be broken and reshaped to resemble Christ — belongs entirely to you.
- Many believers declare total surrender, but when the actual terms and conditions of the process become visible, they pull back — just as one pulls out of a deal after seeing its full cost.
- Free will is not removed in the process of conformity; it is precisely the place where the cost is felt and the choice must be made again.
"So many Christians are like that too. They will say they love God, they love God, Jesus. I would do anything master... the moment you start looking at your life, you're saying, Is this really what I wanted?"
Proximity to God Exposes, Not Disqualifies
- The closer you come to God, the more your weakness, sin, and filth are exposed — not because you are becoming worse, but because light reveals what darkness concealed.
- David and Saul both appeared more righteous before God called them; their hidden natures were only revealed when they drew near to the light of God's calling.
- This exposure is not shame — it is the normal and necessary revelation of your need for God, which is the very foundation of the anointing.
"The closer you get to light, you see better. The closer you come to light the more of you, you see."
From Trying to Natural: The Goal of Transformation
- God's aim is not to help you try harder to do His will — it is to transform you until doing His will is your natural reflex, not a deliberate effort.
- When the Word is natural to you, it is no longer a fight between flesh and spirit; you simply respond as the Word.
- Remaining in the stage of trying means remaining in the realm of men; the process of transformation is what moves you beyond it.
"When you're still trying, you are still in the realm of men."
The Seven Dimensions of Scripture
- The first four dimensions of Scripture gratify the flesh — this is why a person can read the Bible and remain arrogant, unkind, and unchanged.
- The fifth dimension is where reliance on grace begins; anyone who has not reached this level is still operating in the flesh.
- The seventh dimension promotes you into full spiritual personhood — a person formed not by the world's standard but entirely by God's Word.
"So if you've never reached level five, where you need grace, you're still in the flesh."
The Continuous Filling of the Holy Spirit
- Being filled with the Holy Spirit is not a one-time event — every season of suffering expands your capacity and qualifies you for a greater measure of the Spirit.
- The disciples who were already filled in Acts 2 were filled again after their arrest and beatings, confirming that the filling is progressive and repeatedly needed.
- Your emotions and hardness of heart create areas where the Holy Spirit cannot dwell — He can only fill you to the measure you permit Him.
"Every time you suffer, you are expounded for a bigger measure of the spirit. Whenever you see pain, praise God. You know more of Jesus is about to manifest in you."
One Man Raises Many to Carry God's Burden
- No single person can carry the burden of God alone — every person called by God is called to raise others who will help carry what one cannot.
- God called one man named Israel, not the entire nation; His purpose flowed through that one man's line, and this is the pattern of spiritual authority.
- Diverse visions emerge and pull the Church apart when spiritual authority is not respected; God's purpose is carried through a line, not through independent individual visions.
"There is no one man that can carry the burden of God. One man is always called to raise men to make it easier to carry God's burden."
Living with Urgency and Legacy
- God gives every believer a card of uncertainty — the knowledge that tomorrow is not promised — to ensure that every day is lived with full spiritual intensity.
- Apostles and prophets who have died are still winning souls through those who preach their words today; rewards will be distributed on judgment day because the work is still ongoing.
- The primary question every child of God must continually ask is not what they are accumulating, but who they are raising and what they are leaving behind for the continuation of God's purpose.
"If tomorrow I am not here, who did I raise? What did I live behind that will continue the purpose of God?"
Key Definitions
Glory — "Reflection of." God has not asked us to glorify ourselves — He has glorified us so that through us He is reflected and credited among men.
Foreknow — Not simply knowing who you would be, but knowing you before you even existed or walked conscious of yourself; you were conversations with God before your birth.
Predestinated — God's sovereign plan, set before creation, for you to be conformed to the image of His Son — but the choice to submit to the molding process remains yours.
Conformed — To be broken, reshaped, and remade until you resemble Christ so closely that when God the Father looks at Jesus and looks at you, He cannot tell the difference.
Praise — A prophetic declaration made from having seen the other side of your situation by the Spirit; not an attempt to move God, but a declaration of what has already been seen spiritually.
Worship — Intimate communion with God that is entirely personal and based on your own depth of revelation of who He is — it cannot be faked, taught, or stirred corporately.
The Seven Dimensions of Scripture — Seven progressive levels of revelation within every scripture: the first four gratify the flesh; the fifth introduces grace; the sixth forms a man according to God's Word; the seventh makes you fully spiritual.
Key Takeaways
- You were chosen before you existed, and the process of conformity was agreed to by you before birth — what feels like struggle in the flesh looked like a crown from the spiritual realm, and understanding this reframes suffering as the cost of glory.
- Proximity to God exposes weakness rather than removing it immediately — recognizing this prevents believers from retreating from God when their sin becomes more visible, and instead draws them deeper into their need for Him.
- The filling of the Holy Spirit is continuous and progressive, not a single event — every season of pain and resistance removed is an invitation for a greater measure of God's Spirit to fill the space created.
- God's goal is not a better version of you but a complete transformation into Christ — striving by effort is still the realm of men; the destination is a nature so aligned with the Word that obedience is reflex, not decision.
- Every called person must raise others — the purpose of God cannot be completed by one person in one generation, and failing to invest in others is a failure of your assignment, regardless of personal achievement.
Reflection Questions
- In which areas of your life are you still trying to do God's will through effort rather than responding by nature — and what does that reveal about where you are in the process of transformation?
- When your weaknesses became more visible after drawing closer to God, did you interpret it as disqualification and pull back — and what would change if you understood that exposure as the beginning of your anointing?
- Which of the seven dimensions of Scripture best describes where you currently are — and what would it practically mean for you to move into the next dimension?
- If you were called home tomorrow, who have you raised, and what have you left behind that would continue the purpose of God without you?
- Are you genuinely praising God from having seen the other side by the Spirit, or are you using praise as a tool to entice God into acting — and what is the difference in your own life right now?
Prayers and Declarations
Opening Prayer
"Father, we surrender ourselves before you. We pray that Lord your will will be done amongst us. Cleanse us, purify us of every unrighteousness. Today we choose not to lean on our own understanding, but we desire to know your truth—the truth only by your Holy Spirit. Leaders, Father today, as we grow closer to you, manifest your glory amongst us in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen."
Raise your right hand — representing strength and power — and pray:
"Lord, I need your strength."
"Lord, I need your strength."
"Father, I need your strength."
"Father, I need your strength."
"On my own, I will perish."
"On my own, I will perish."
"My strength is not enough."
"My strength cannot do enough."
"Lord, I need you. I need your strength, O Lord. Strengthen me in this time. When your son Jesus was weak, when he was in prayer, before he went to the cross, You sent angels to comfort him. While he was in the wilderness, when he was weak, you sent angels to strengthen him. Father, I need strength."
Say this after me:
"Father in the name of Jesus. If there be anything negative in me, as your spirit enters me, as your whole spirit comes upon me, comes upon me — let whatever is wicked, whatever is unclean, be removed from me — witchcraft, sorcery, limitations that are keeping me from walking with you. As your spirit enters, as your oil comes upon me, whatever does not belong in me, let it be taken out."
"In Jesus name — in every place of weakness that is in me, where an evil spirit, a demonic spirit, has been controlling that area of my life — today by the power of the Holy Spirit, let that place be cleaned and let the King of Glory come in."
"So any guest in me that is not the Holy Spirit — you are not welcome. You are not welcome. In the name of Jesus — I Victor, I Victor, I Victor, I Victor, I Victor, I Victor."
Offering prayer — say this after me:
"Father, I will never keep anything from you."
"Father, I will never keep anything from you."
"It's all yours anyway."
"It's all yours anyway."
"It's always been yours."
"It's always been yours."
"You're just entrusting me with it."
"You're just entrusting me with it."
Final Blessing Prayer
"Father today. Father today. Because of my obedience to your word, prove yourself in all my needs, in all my desires, supply my needs according to your riches in glory through your son Jesus Christ. My precious Lord and Savior — I will never know lack, my children will never know lack, my children's children will never know lack. Struggle will be a thing of the past. For me and my family. For me and my family. For me and my descendants. We will never recognize that season again. We will be completely shifted from it. And because we are shifted from it, we will shift many others. In the mighty name of Jesus. In the mighty name of Jesus. Father we glorify You. Father we glorify You. Amen."
Closing Prophetic Declaration
"Go from this place knowing that you are anointed. Knowing that you are blessed. Knowing that whatever pertains to you is blessed. Knowing that your house is blessed. In the mighty name of Jesus. Remember today you have been elevated from the place of chosen to the place of appointed — you and you alone are God's glory. So go and be great this week."
