Chosen: Understanding the Process from Called to Chosen

Chosen: Understanding the Process from Called to Chosen

Chosen · Part 1 of 2

Part 2
Teaching by Prophet Lovy L. Elias · Watch on YouTube · 14 February 2022

God has already declared you holy — now the question is whether you will enter the process that moves you from called to chosen.

Every believer is called. But not every called person becomes chosen. The distance between the two is not measured by perfection or performance — it is measured by your understanding of God's vision for your life, your willingness to enter His process, and your readiness to become a channel through which His glory is displayed to the world.

Teaching Overview

  1. When God calls people unto Himself, He declares them holy.
  2. Many have been called but are failing in the path that should make them chosen — the stages based on your understanding of walking with God determine your promotion in the Kingdom of God.

Holiness Is a Declaration, Not an Achievement

  • Holiness is a declaration God makes over you — it has nothing to do with your ability to resist sin.
  • God is holy not because He resisted sin; therefore holiness and the absence of sin are not the same thing.
  • Measuring your holiness by other people's standards means you have already disconnected from what God has ordained for you.

"The number one mistake is that you're trying to do what you have been declared."

Holiness Is Bestowed, Not Earned

  • Just as righteousness is a gift that cannot be produced by human effort, holiness is a nature that only God can bestow upon you.
  • Nobody can "un-holiness" themselves — it is something God stores in you, not something you manufacture.
  • The gift of righteousness and the declaration of holiness are among the things that have already been given to you.

"There are things that you have been given."

God's Thoughts Are Not Our Thoughts

  • God does not think like a human being, does not make decisions like a human being, and cannot be approached as though He does.
  • To work with God, you must adapt a different way — a way built on relationship, not assumption.
  • Faith in a relationship is not the memorization of Scripture divorced from knowing the Person who will carry it out.

"Faith is not just a memorization of Scripture that you claim to believe without knowing the person who will carry it out."

Proper Posture Before God and the World

  • Before God, the posture must be one of the greatest humility — on your knees, completely yielded.
  • Before the enemy and the world, the posture is one of authority — declaring and shifting things with boldness.
  • Many believers are trying to force God's hand, when their faith should simply flow through intimacy.

"Before God — Lamb. Before the enemy and the world — I am roaring."

Why Satan Will Never Be Forgiven

  • Satan's rebellion was not born of temptation — he made a deliberate choice with full knowledge and no external seduction.
  • Humanity, by contrast, was tempted and deceived; God's justice accounts for this, and forgiveness has been made available to us.
  • Angels can grow, mature, and be elevated in strength — Satan's sin was not in desiring growth but in choosing rebellion with complete understanding.

"Satan will never be forgiven because he had no temper. He chose. He made a decision. There was no temptation for him."

The Stages from Called to Chosen

  • When God calls you, you are declared holy immediately — because two cannot walk together unless they are in agreement.
  • The transition from called to chosen fails when a believer does not understand the vision and assignment of God for their life.
  • To be called is to be declared. To be chosen is to be separated and prepared for a specific assignment.

"To be chosen is to be separated for an assignment. To be chosen is to be prepared for an assignment."

Jesus as the Model of the Chosen

  • Jesus was raised up from among common people — He was not sent down bypassing the human experience, He was elevated through it.
  • Even as a child, He was being molded into His assignment through questions He asked and time He spent among the teachers of the law.
  • Your current situation — working for others, renting, serving faithfully — is not a contradiction of your destiny; it is training for it.

"Your situation is training you."

The Proof of Your Preaching

  • The only valid source of spiritual authority is not preaching alone — there must be something that proves what you are preaching.
  • Jesus never commissioned anyone to go without the manifestation of the Spirit; that standard has not changed.
  • The manifestation of the Spirit includes not only healing and miracles but the power to convict hearts and turn people completely toward God.

"Anyone preaching the gospel without the manifestation of the Spirit is an illegal representative of Christ."

The Hidden Testimonies of the Chosen

  • What qualifies you for public elevation is not grand visible victories — it is your faithfulness in the small testimonies where nobody saw you.
  • David's private victories over the lion and the bear were the supernatural preparation that made Goliath irrelevant to him.
  • Goliath was Saul's problem. David was simply passing through — but when chosen, the burden of the nation fell on him.

"What proves that you are ready to be immersed into the training is your remembrance of the small testimonies where nobody saw you."

Signs That You Are Chosen

  • A sign of being chosen is that you begin to carry burdens that are not yours — interceding for people who do not know you are carrying them.
  • Chosen people pray and fast for others without recognition, without advertising, and sometimes for people who even oppose them.
  • When those people receive breakthrough, they will not know you were involved — and that hidden faithfulness is what God uses to build you up for public placement.

"You start to carry burdens that are not yours and you carry them without recognition."

Without Man, God's Assignment Cannot Happen on Earth

  • God has desires, purposes, and things He wants to accomplish — but His main representative on earth, Adam, failed Him.
  • No spirit — not even angelic beings — can function on earth without the permission and participation of a human being.
  • This is why angels do not preach the gospel: God chose to make Himself human when He wanted to save the world, because His own law requires human partnership.

"Without man the assignment of God cannot happen on earth."

Key Definitions

Holiness — A declaration God makes over you based on His calling, not a standard of moral achievement you reach through discipline or the absence of sin.

Chosen — Being separated and prepared by God for a specific assignment; distinct from being called, and entered only through a process of testing and proven faithfulness.

Called — The state of being declared holy by God at the moment He draws you to Himself; available to all, but not the same as being chosen.

Manifestation of the Spirit — Not limited to healing, deliverance, or miracles, but includes the convicting power of the Holy Spirit that changes a person's heart completely and turns them toward God.

Bootcamp — The season that begins when a believer moves from called to chosen; a period of intensified challenge, hidden testing, and burden-carrying that prepares them for public elevation.

Peculiar people — A chosen generation that serves as a walking billboard displaying the glorious praises of God; distinct from ordinary Christian living by the visible acts of God working through them.

Key Takeaways

  • Holiness is declared over you by God, not produced by you — Trying to achieve what has already been declared means you are working against the grace already given to you.
  • The gap between called and chosen is a process, not a position — Understanding God's vision and assignment for your life is what moves you from one to the other.
  • Your current season of hiddenness is active training — The small testimonies where no one is watching are the evidence God uses to determine your readiness for the next level.
  • Being chosen means carrying burdens beyond yourself — As long as your vision extends only to your own family and needs, you cannot be elevated into the chosen assignment.
  • Without human partnership, God's purposes on earth cannot be executed — This is not a limitation of God's power; it is the law He set in place, which makes your availability to Him eternally significant.

Reflection Questions

  1. Are you measuring your holiness by your own performance or by other people's standards — and how does this teaching change what standard you should be using?
  2. What is the vision and assignment God has shown you for your life, and are you actively pursuing it — or have you remained at the level of being called without pressing toward being chosen?
  3. What are the small, hidden testimonies in your own life — moments where God came through for you when no one was watching — and are you holding onto them as evidence of what He can do through you publicly?
  4. Are there burdens you have felt compelled to carry for others — intercessions, fasting, concern for people you cannot explain — and have you been faithful to carry them without recognition?
  5. If God is always measuring your heart with every decision you make, what do your recent decisions reveal about your readiness for the next stage of His process?

Prayers and Declarations

Look at your neighbor and say:

"There is a process."

Prophetic declaration spoken over the congregation:

"I prophesied to somebody today. You are about to be a channel that the glory, the power, the manifestations of the virtue of God, will be revealed."
