Gates, Keys, and Kingdoms: Unlocking Spiritual Dimensions and Standing in the Evil Day

Gates, Keys, and Kingdoms: Unlocking Spiritual Dimensions and Standing in the Evil Day

Teaching by Prophet Lovy L. Elias · Watch on YouTube · 4 March 2024

The keys of the Kingdom of Heaven unlock different dimensions of heaven — and for every dimension of hell, there is an answer from a dimension of heaven.

Every believer has been given access to the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, yet most only speak of physical doors — doors of financial breakthrough and increase — while the spiritual doors that unlock divine power, heavenly regions, and authority over principalities remain untouched. Understanding the gates, the keys, and the spiritual geography of heaven and hell is not optional for those who intend to stand in the evil day.

Teaching Overview

  1. Proximity with God — not prayer volume — is what produces strength and unlocks deeper dimensions of the spirit.
  2. Believers must understand the distinction between binding demons, resisting Satan, and standing through an evil day, because each requires a different kind of spiritual readiness.
  3. Heaven is a kingdom with regions and dimensions, and the keys Jesus gives are plural — because for every dimension of hell, there is a corresponding dimension of heaven with an answer.
  4. Principalities are princes without a territory, and they rule over any spiritual atmosphere that no believer has been equipped to govern.
  5. Spiritual doors — not just physical doors — are what believers must pursue, because whatever you desire in God's presence is located somewhere in the heavens, and the attacks you face are coming from specific places in hell.

The Evil Day: What It Is and Why Proximity Matters

  • An evil day is not a difficult situation or a temptation — it is the day when God feels absent, you are in the valley of the shadow of death, and you are literally between life and death.
  • Every believer will face an evil day, and the only thing that sustains you through it is the spiritual strength accumulated through time spent in God's presence.
  • Jesus was prepared for the cross because He was always in the presence of the Father — His endurance was not built at the moment of crisis but long before it.

"Every opportunity you are given to be in the presence of God gives you strength to overcome that evil day."

Binding Demons vs. Resisting Satan

  • You can bind demons, but when Satan himself comes, you cannot bind him — you can only resist him, because he is permitted and operates within his jurisdiction.
  • In the wilderness, Jesus did not bind the devil — He resisted him, exactly as the scripture instructs.
  • Endurance is the weapon against Satan — not power, not rebuking, not binding — only the capacity to remain standing when there is no other option.

"You can bind demons, but when Satan comes, you can only resist him."

Proximity with God vs. Prayer Volume

  • Proximity with God is not produced by the quantity of prayer — it is produced by the depth of knowledge of God and your capacity in the spirit.
  • God will not reveal Himself to a person beyond their capacity to digest — your spiritual capacity determines the measure of revelation you can receive and hold.
  • Those who wait upon the Lord renew their strength — this is proximity producing power, not prayer volume producing power.

"Proximity with God equals power. You don't become strong because you prayed. You become strong because you know God better."

Heaven as a Kingdom with Regions and Dimensions

  • Heaven is a kingdom — not a nation — and a kingdom has different regions, different realms, and different dimensions that are navigated, not merely entered.
  • Satan himself mapped the geography of heaven when he declared his intent to ascend above the clouds and sit in the north in the mountain of the congregation — revealing that God dwells in the north, and other regions of heaven exist beyond it.
  • Your ability to navigate the spiritual realm is of the utmost importance — you can be anointed and still fail to navigate the spiritual world.

"Your ability to navigate the spiritual realm is of the utmost importance."

Keys of the Kingdom: Plural for a Reason

  • Jesus gave Peter not one key but keys — plural — because different realms of hell require different answers from different realms of heaven.
  • When the disciples could not cast out a specific demon, Jesus revealed the reason: "this kind" came from somewhere else — a dimension the disciples had not yet entered and for which they had no key.
  • The master key is Jesus Himself — possessing Him unlocks access to all other keys, which are keys to dimensions of operations.

"For every dimension of hell there is an answer from a dimension of heaven."

Principalities: Princes Without Territory

  • Principalities are not ordinary demons — they are princes without a territory, spirits that are always looking to invade and rule any spiritual atmosphere that no believer has the capacity to govern.
  • A believer can be praying in a place where demons still rule, because prayer alone — without the key to that spiritual dimension — does not govern spiritual atmospheres.
  • Wherever no one holds spiritual authority over a region, a principality will come and establish rulership over it.

"Principalities are spirits that don't have a region to control. They are princes without a territory."

Spiritual Doors vs. Physical Doors

  • The church has been conditioned to speak only of physical doors — financial doors, doors of breakthrough, doors of increase — while the spiritual doors that unlock heavenly dimensions remain unaddressed.
  • Whatever you desire in the presence of God is located somewhere in the heavens, and the attacks you are facing are also coming from a specific place in hell.
  • Operating from different regions of the spirit produces different manifestations — two believers serving the same Lord and filled by the same Spirit will express God differently because the region they occupy is different.

"Whatever you desire in the presence of God is located somewhere in the heavens and the attacks you are facing they are also coming from a certain place in hell."

The Tower of Babel as a Spiritual Portal

  • The Tower of Babel was not an attempt to physically touch heaven with a tall building — it was a spiritual portal, a gate into a realm in the spirit.
  • The builders had prophetic insight that division and scattering were coming, and they were driven to complete the portal before that judgment arrived.
  • Spiritual gates are not opened from the outside — they are opened only from the inside, by someone already on the other side who opens for you.

"The tower was a portal, it was a gate into a realm in the spirit."

"Gates of the spirit are not open from the outside, they are open from the inside only."

Key Definitions

Evil Day — Not a difficult circumstance or a temptation, but the specific day when God feels absent, you are in the valley of the shadow of death, hell has been fully released, and there is no binding or rebuking available — only the ability to stand.

Principalities — Spirits that don't have a region to control; they are princes without a territory, always looking to invade and rule any spiritual atmosphere where no believer holds authority.

Proximity with God — Not measured by prayer frequency or volume, but by depth of knowledge of God and spiritual capacity — the condition that produces renewed strength and access to deeper dimensions of God's presence.

Keys of the Kingdom — Plural keys given by Jesus that correspond to different dimensions of heaven, providing an answer for every dimension of hell; obtained through relationship with Jesus, who is the master key.

Spiritual Portal / Spiritual Gate — A gateway into a realm in the spirit, opened only from the inside by someone already on that side; the Tower of Babel was a physical structure built as such a portal.

This Kind — Jesus's term for a demon that comes from a specific spiritual realm requiring a key — a dimension of operation — that has not yet been entered by the one attempting to cast it out.

Key Takeaways

  • Every believer will face an evil day, and only time spent in God's presence prepares you for it — Strength for the evil day cannot be manufactured in the moment of crisis; it must be accumulated before that day arrives.
  • Proximity with God, not prayer volume, is the source of spiritual power — Without knowing God's heart and mind, prayer becomes empty activity rather than a force that governs spiritual realities.
  • Jesus gave keys — plural — because heaven has regions and hell has dimensions, each requiring a corresponding answer — Spiritual authority is not a single unlock but a progressive entering into realms that correspond to the attacks and desires you carry.
  • Principalities rule wherever believers have no spiritual authority over a region — Prayer without the key to that dimension leaves spiritual atmospheres ungoverned and open to invasion.
  • Spiritual doors must be pursued with the same hunger as physical breakthrough — Until the church moves from seeking material doors to unlocking dimensions of heaven, it will remain unable to govern the spiritual atmospheres that determine what manifests in the natural.

Reflection Questions

  1. When you consider your current time in God's presence — not just prayer, but genuine proximity and waiting on Him — do you have what is needed to stand when the evil day comes, or are you accumulating debt against that day?
  2. Are you pursuing spiritual doors with the same intensity you pursue doors of financial breakthrough and increase? What would it look like to make unlocking dimensions of heaven your primary pursuit this season?
  3. Where in your life or community are principalities ruling — and is it possible they are ruling there because no one in that space holds the corresponding spiritual key?
  4. Have you encountered a situation where your prayer and rebuking produced no results? In light of the teaching on "this kind," what does that reveal about the dimension from which that opposition is coming, and what step are you being called to take?
  5. If the evil day arrived today — if God felt silent, the Word felt distant, and prayer felt impossible — what have you already laboured in God that would cause you to stand and say, "No — God is with me"?

Prayers and Declarations

Corporate Reading — Psalm 136

"All give thanks unto the Lord for he is good. For his mercy endureth forever. All give thanks unto the God of gods. For his mercy endureth forever. O give thanks to the sun to rule by day. The moon and stars to rule by night. To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn and brought out Israel from amongst them with a strong hand and with a stretched out arm which divided the Red Sea into parts and made Israel pass through and overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red Sea. To him which led his people to him which smote great kings and slew famous kings and gave their lands for an inheritance unto Israel his servant who remembered us in our low estate and as redeemed us from our enemies as redeemed us from everything."

Turn to your neighbor and tell them:

"Neighbor, I am going to pray for you. That whatever reason I'm going to put my voice in your ear today. Whatever situation it is, I am going to lift my voice on your behalf and pray that the will of God will be done in the mighty name of Jesus. We are lifting you up that the God that answers by fire will answer you today as we lift our voice and pray with you that the God that makes a way will make a way on your behalf."

Turn to your neighbor and say:

"I am not forgotten. I am not forgotten. Because God knows my name."

On the count of three, yell out whatever your prayer is this morning:

"I have the victory over — [your prayer]"

Lift up your words to Him right now. Speak to Him in your own words:

"Father in the name of Jesus, give me the strength to stand. Give me the ability to stand. Encourage me in your presence. Renew my strength today in your presence. Renew my strength again today. That I may be able to stand. Father, today, give me the ability to stand. But stir me up and give me the ability to remain in your presence. Give me the strength, O Lord, to be able to stand. God, give me the ability to stand. Renew my strength today. Today in your presence, O God, renew my strength. Cause me to sleep and have call to endow me with grace, O God. Give me the strength to stand. Give me the strength to remain. Give me the strength, oh God, to be fortified and to be sure where you have called me. Renew my strength, oh God, that I would not waver, that I would not abandon, but that I would stand."

Pastoral Prayer

"Father we thank you in the name of your Son Jesus for your goodness your kindness and your mercy. Father you have continually sustained us by your spirit. Your mercy has continued to lift us up. Oh Lord Father I pray in the name of Jesus that by your grace today you will reveal yourself to us again. Father the journey of knowing you is eternal. Father, we pray that you will keep us in your presence, that you will keep us from sinning like you did in the time of Abraham when you stopped the Pharaoh from sinning against you. Father, we want to maintain our place in you, but we cannot do that on our own. It is only by your grace, by your mercy and by your spirit. Father, cleanse us, purify us, and give us the ability to remain in you that we may see the fruits of walking with you. Father David stayed in Psalms 103. That your benefits, the benefits of walking with you are everlasting. Father we pray that all those things will manifest upon us today. Be glorified now and eternally in Jesus' name."
