Out of Reach: Why God Purposely Places Your Destiny Beyond Your Own Grasp
Some blessings are not out of reach because you are unworthy — they are out of reach because God will not let you enter your destiny without Him.
There are blessings you have believed God for, prayed for, fasted for — and they still seem impossible to attain. The world around you receives with ease what you cannot seem to break into, and you wonder whether your time has passed. But what feels out of reach is not a sign of God's absence. It is the mark of His love.
Teaching Overview
- God purposely places certain blessings out of reach so that you cannot enter your destiny without Him.
- You do not enter your destiny because you pray — you enter your destiny with God.
- Your heart speaks louder than your lips, and God only moves where there is genuine conviction.
- Total reliance on what God has said is the only thing that can bring the manifestation of His promises.
- Your destiny is in two parts: allowing the word to manifest, and then giving it back to the One who gave it to you.
Key Distinctions
| Prayer | Relationship with God | Destiny | Comfort | Time | Purpose | Word | Declaration | Heart | Lips | God's Will | Self-Initiated Solutions |
|---|
Rather than a single wide table, the comparisons Prophet addresses fall into three focused pairs:
| Prayer | Relationship with God | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A spiritual discipline — fasting, tithing, shouting, declaring | Walking with God; allowing Him to go ahead of you |
| How it relates to destiny | Does not by itself bring you into destiny | Is the means by which you enter destiny |
| What it produces | Religious activity that can leave you feeling unheard | Reformation into a person who lets God lead |
| The danger | Believing in the blessings of God without believing in God Himself | None — this is the correct posture |
| Destiny | Comfort | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | God's full purpose fulfilled through your life | A settled, manageable, pain-free existence |
| Who defines it | God alone | Self — the decision to stop pressing for more |
| What it requires | Surrender, suffering, and seasons of being out of reach | Contentment with present circumstances |
| Where it leads | Satisfaction of the soul | Spiritual death — "when you go to hospice and they make somebody comfortable, it is because they are ready to die" |
| God's response | He withholds blessings to ensure you reach it with Him | He allows it, but it is not His best |
| God's Will | Self-Initiated Solutions | |
|---|---|---|
| Source | God's spoken word and timing | Human wisdom applied to God's promises |
| What it produces | Blessing that is fully yours, tied to destiny | A rival, a Judas, a split blessing — competitors in your own house |
| Ownership | What God gives belongs to you | "What God has not given is not yours — and the one who gave it will come for it" |
| Long-term outcome | Fulfills God's mandate through you | Creates division and reduces what God intended |
God's Divine Purpose in Withholding
- God does not withhold blessings as punishment — He makes certain things out of reach because He refuses to let you enter your destiny without Him.
- If God were indifferent toward you, He would allow you to have everything — because He would have no concern for your soul.
- The things that feel impossible to attain are not the work of witchcraft, sorcery, or unreadiness — God has purposely placed them beyond self-effort.
"When God loves an individual, God will never allow the individual to enter into the promise God has for them without Him."
Prayer vs. Walking with God
- Praying, tithing, and being faithful are not the mechanisms that bring you into destiny — walking with God is.
- When it feels like prayer is not enough, it is because God is reforming you into someone who allows Him to go ahead.
- God is not withholding to punish; He is opening your eyes to understand that what He has for you cannot be separated from Him.
"You don't enter into your destiny because you pray. You enter into your destiny with God."
The Power of Heart Conviction
- God is not listening to your lips — He is looking at your heart, and your heart speaks louder than what you confess with your mouth.
- Every time a prophetic word came and you inwardly dismissed it as not for you, it was mockery of God's ability in the sight of Heaven.
- God does not move on declaration alone — He moves where there is genuine conviction, and without conviction, your words are empty.
"God only moves where there is conviction. If you have no conviction, your words are empty."
Settling for Comfort Is a Sign of Spiritual Death
- When you declare that you no longer want the fullness of God's blessing and only ask for comfort, you have settled — and settling is a preparation for death, not victory.
- Sarah's response to God's promise was not celebration but a withdrawal from desire: "After I am waxed old, shall I have pleasure?"
- Battles mean you are headed for victory; comfort means you are headed for death.
"When you go to hospice and they make somebody comfortable it is because they are ready to die."
God's Word Is What Fulfills the Promise
- No amount of fasting, effort, or declaration will bring the promise — only total reliance on what God has spoken can fulfill it.
- It is the word itself that brings the connections, the opportunities, the open doors, the protection, and the healing.
- When God speaks, it is His word — not your formula — that will accomplish what was spoken.
"My words shall not return unto me void, but they shall fulfill what they were sent to do. It is the word that will cause what God has spoken to completely come to pass."
Self-Initiated Solutions Create Division
- What God has not given is not yours — and attempting to create it through your own wisdom brings competitors and a rival into your own house.
- Many have brought a Judas or an Ishmael into their lives by sharing God's vision with someone who was never meant to carry it.
- What should have been a full blessing becomes a divided one when you seek a solution outside of God.
"What God has not given is not yours. Your destiny will not come because of your neighbor, it will come because of God."
Destiny Is in Two Parts
- The first part of destiny is allowing the word of God to manifest — standing in faith until the promise comes to pass.
- The second part is giving it back to the One who gave it — because what God gives you is tied to a purpose that extends beyond you.
- If what God gives you is only about you, the test has been failed; God blesses you so that you can multiply and feed nations.
"God gives it to you so that you can give it back so you can multiply so that you can feed nations."
God's Word Is Tied to Purpose, Not Time
- God's promise is not bound by age, financial markets, criminal records, or the number of times you have failed — only His time matters.
- When you enter full maturity, what God said will come to pass, because His word is tied to purpose, not to a calendar.
- Because to God there is no time — there is only purpose — even wasted years do not disqualify what He has spoken.
"What God said is not tied to time, it is tied to purpose."
Key Definitions
Out of reach — A condition God deliberately creates in the life of someone He loves, making certain blessings unattainable by self-effort so that they can only be entered into with God.
Destiny — The full purpose God has ordained for your life, comprising two parts: receiving the manifestation of God's word, and giving it back to Him so it can multiply and extend beyond you.
Conviction — An inward persuasion of the heart — distinct from mental excitement or verbal declaration — that is the only condition under which God moves on a promise.
Comfort — A settled spiritual state in which a person no longer presses for the fullness of God's blessing, choosing instead a manageable, pain-free existence; spiritually, it is preparation for death rather than victory.
Self-initiated solution — A human attempt to fulfill what God has spoken through one's own wisdom rather than waiting on God's method; it produces what belongs to someone else and introduces division into the blessing.
Suffering of believers — Not punishment, but always preparation for destiny; the delay God allows is not denial — it is God preparing you to do what no other has ever been able to do.
Key Takeaways
- God purposely puts certain blessings out of reach — This is not the work of witchcraft or unreadiness; it is the mark of God's love, ensuring you cannot enter your destiny without Him.
- You enter destiny with God, not through prayer alone — Religious activity without reliance on God Himself leaves you performing disciplines while missing the Person those disciplines are meant to draw you toward.
- Conviction of the heart, not confession of the lips, is what moves God — Doubting inwardly while declaring outwardly is seen by God as mockery, and it delays the very process you are praying to accelerate.
- Total reliance on God's word is the only engine of fulfillment — No effort, formula, or shortcut can bring what only God's word can bring; the word itself will open every door, provide every connection, and fulfill every promise.
- Destiny is not complete at the receiving — it is complete at the giving back — The blessing God gives you is never just for you; it is a seed He expects returned so it can multiply and fulfill His mandate through you.
Reflection Questions
- In what area of your life have you secretly stopped believing God's promise is still for you — and have you recognized that as mockery of His power?
- Are you pursuing the blessings God has spoken, or are you pursuing God Himself? What does your daily posture reveal about which one you are actually trusting?
- Have you settled for comfort — adjusting your expectations downward — and called it contentment? What would it mean for your spiritual life if comfort is preparation for death, not blessing?
- Is there a self-initiated solution in your life — a person, partnership, or open door you pursued outside of God's instruction — that has since created division, competition, or a split blessing?
- When God fulfills His promise to you, are you prepared to give it back? What is currently holding you back from the posture of surrender that destiny requires?
Prayers and Declarations
Lift your right hand to heaven and look to heaven. Say this after me:
"My father. My father. I look to you. I look to you. May I receive the spirit of revelation? May I receive the spirit of understanding? May I receive the spirit of understanding? That I may know You, that I may walk according to Your word, in Jesus' name."
Speak to your neighbor and say:
"The word is working for me. The word is working for me."
"It is still your time. It is still your hour. Yes. As long as you look to God."
"Every one of you are entering into the birthing of what God said. But don't celebrate the birth until you give back what God gave unto you."
