The Doors You Choose Will Change Your Life Forever: How You Hear God's Word Determines Everything

The Doors You Choose Will Change Your Life Forever: How You Hear God's Word Determines Everything

Teaching by Prophet Lovy L. Elias · Watch on YouTube · 1 December 2025

The fulfillment of God's promises is not determined by your circumstances — it is determined by the posture of your ears.

The parable of the sower is not primarily about the condition of your heart. It is about the condition of your hearing. God's word is scattered over every kind of ground, but only the ground that responds to His voice is recognized as His. How you hear determines what you receive — and what you receive determines the course of your life.

Teaching Overview

  1. Revelation — not Bible reading — is the foundation of true spiritual ministry and Christian growth.
  2. God cannot distinguish good ground from bad ground by appearance; He recognizes His ground by its ability to respond to His voice.
  3. Most believers hear God's word through the filter of their circumstances and desired outcomes, not with an honest heart open to what He is actually saying.
  4. Prophecy exists to reveal mysteries you do not yet know, not merely to confirm what you have already decided God is saying.
  5. The fulfillment of God's word is not when you see the manifestation — it is when you hear it correctly.

Revelation Is the Difference Maker in Christian Life

  • Reading scripture to people is not the same as speaking what the Holy Spirit is saying right now — the whole Bible is not what God is saying at this moment.
  • Christian faith is not book-based like other religions; it is centered on the Risen Savior who gave us a book — we exist with or without the scriptures because the Holy Ghost lives in us.
  • The prophets and apostles did not solely teach what was written; they taught what the Spirit said and used scripture to validate the doctrine.

"When I preach to you, I am communicating heaven's mind to you and I'm using scripture to put proof to you that that doctrine is in God's nature."

"Our faith is not centered on what is written. Our faith is centered on the Risen Savior."

God Recognizes His Ground by Its Response to His Voice

  • The parable of the sower does not reveal a God who selects manicured, prepared ground — He scatters seed everywhere, including on the road, and recognizes His ground by whether it responds.
  • God told the prophet: "I cannot tell what a good ground is" based on external appearance — the measure is the ground's ability to hear and respond to His voice.
  • It is not primarily about the condition of the heart — it is the condition of the ears, because you do not hear with your ears; you hear with your heart.

"I don't determine a good ground based on a manicured ground. I measure a good ground by the ability of the ground to hear me. If it responds to me, then I know that is my ground."

"It is not even your heart, because when we read this passage, people have made it about their heart, but it's not about the heart. It is the condition of the ears."

Receiving God's Word Is Receiving God Himself

  • If you receive His word, you have received Him; if you reject His word, you have rejected Him — regardless of whether you welcome Him, praise Him, or confess belief in Him.
  • God's people can love Him and reject Him simultaneously — they receive only what they have already determined to be His voice, not what He is actually saying.
  • You cannot separate God from His word; accepting God in general while rejecting a specific word He has spoken is a contradiction that provokes Him.

"My people have me, but they have rejected me at the same time. They can only receive what they have determined to be my voice. And not what I am actually saying to them."

Most Believers Hear God Through the Filter of Their Circumstances

  • The majority of believers listen to God's word based on what they are going through, not to hear what He wants to say — they have already predetermined the outcome they want.
  • Hearing God based on circumstances means the word loses its potency — it is heard, but not the way God wants it to be heard.
  • Delay is not caused by how many times you fast or by demonic attack — 99% of Christians' problems come from not listening, which is good news because changing your ears changes your outcome.

"Everyone, they cancel, God is good. But then you realize they never heard the word because the word lost its potency. Why? Because they never heard the word that God wanted them to hear it. They heard the word based on their circumstances."

"99% of Christians' problems are not a devil. 99% of all our issues is we don't listen."

Hearing God Correctly Fulfills Scripture in Your Ears

  • The fulfillment of God's word is not when you see the manifestation — when Jesus read from Isaiah and closed the book, He declared, "This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears."
  • When you truly hear a prophetic word, the manifestation will bring joy but not surprise — because God already spoke it to you and it was already fulfilled in your hearing.
  • Your posture is everything in your spiritual life — it is what positions you to hear God, and without it, even the desire to see in the spirit cannot be realized.

"The fulfillment of God's word is not when you see a manifestation. It is centered on how you heard it. If you hear it, the manifestation has already taken place."

"The scriptures are fulfilled in your ears. So when prophecy comes, it's not fulfilled when you go home. It's fulfilled in your ears. How did you hear it? How you received it determines the outcome."

Key Definitions

Revelation — What the Holy Spirit is actively and specifically speaking right now, in season, for a particular people and moment — distinct from merely reading or quoting scripture.

Good ground — Not a manicured or outwardly prepared heart, but any ground — regardless of its condition — that responds to God's voice when He scatters His word.

Hearing vs. Listening — Hearing is what all people do when the word is spoken; listening is receiving the word the way God intends it, with no hidden agendas, no predetermined outcomes, and an honest heart.

Mysteries of the Kingdom — Deep truths of God that are not found on the surface of scripture; they are confided by God to those He specifically calls to know them, and are not accessible to all believers equally.

Hardening the heart — The effect of a prior word or voice already resident in you contending against and silencing the voice of God that is trying to transform, elevate, heal, and restore you.

Honest heart — Not a clean or perfected heart, but a heart with no hidden agendas and no hidden intentions — one that simply wants to hear what God is saying and respond to it.

Key Takeaways

  • Revelation — not Bible reading — is the engine of spiritual life — God moves in response to what He has spoken now, not merely in response to quoted scripture, and treating them as the same is a mark of spiritual immaturity.
  • God identifies His ground by its response, not its condition — No matter where you are in life, if you respond to His word, you become His ground and He will remove you from where you are.
  • Hearing God's word through your circumstances is the primary cause of spiritual delay — The children of Israel were delivered from Egypt but never entered the fullness of their inheritance because they hardened their hearts when God spoke.
  • Prophecy reveals what you do not know — it is not simply a tool for confirming what you have already decided — Expecting prophecy only to confirm your conclusions is a misunderstanding of the prophetic office.
  • Scripture is fulfilled in your ears the moment you hear it correctly — The manifestation follows what has already been established in your hearing, and that is why those who truly hear are never surprised by their miracles.

Reflection Questions

  1. When you come to church or listen to a sermon, are you genuinely open to hear what God wants to say — or have you already decided what He should say based on what you are going through?
  2. Is there a word God has spoken over your life — through prophecy, scripture, or a prompting of the Spirit — that you have rejected or dismissed because your circumstances seemed to contradict it?
  3. When God speaks a promise to you, do you ask "how will this be possible given everything that has gone wrong?" — and if so, is that question rising from pure inquiry or from doubt rooted in disappointment?
  4. In what area of your life are you "almost touching" the fullness of what God has promised but not quite crossing over? What does your hearing posture look like in that area?
  5. What would change in your life if you stopped blaming external forces and accepted that the primary barrier between you and what God has for you is the condition of your ears?

Prayers and Declarations

Opening Prayer

"Father, we thank you for your goodness, your kindness. We thank you that you remain God. We thank you that your mercy is in due or forever. We thank you for purification and certification. Even the forgiveness of sins through your Son, Jesus. Our Lord and our Savior. Father, we thank you for the great things that you will do, the great things that you have done. We thank you that you have begun something great and beautifully in us and you will finish it. Today our burdens are lifted, our problems are solved because Lord Jesus, you are the Yokebreaker. We thank you today that your will is done amongst us in the mighty name of Jesus and everybody said, Amen!"

Congregational prayer — repeat after me:

"Father in the name of Jesus, Father in the name of Jesus feed me Lord feed me by your spirit Teach me by your spirit Teach me by your spirit Remove carnality from my life Remove carnality from my life Set my feet Set my feet on the path of life On the path of life Quicken my spirit Quicken my spirit By your spirit By your spirit Let it be so now Let it be so now In the mighty name of Jesus mighty name of Jesus"

Prophetic Declaration

"I am here to declare to you today. Open your heart, don't resist God. For the best is still yet to come. The best is at the door."

  • Luke 8:9-10 — "And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be? And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand." (KJV)
  • Luke 8:11-15 — "Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience." (KJV)
