The Unchanging God Revealed: Knowing God Through Relationship, Not Religion

The Unchanging God Revealed: Knowing God Through Relationship, Not Religion

Teaching by Prophet Lovy L. Elias · Watch on YouTube · 27 February 2025

The pursuit of God's face — not religious performance — is the doorway to rest, peace, and every blessing He has ordained.

Knowing God intimately is not the result of impressing Him — it is the fruit of pursuing Him. The Gospel is the finished work of Christ's love and reconciliation, and the only response it requires is acceptance and the disciplined pursuit of His face.

Teaching Overview

  1. Love is not tolerance — it corrects in private and covers publicly, and it never fails where prophecy, tongues, and knowledge all pass away.
  2. God cannot be impressed — the pursuit of knowing Him replaces all religious performance.
  3. God's "no" can become a "yes" — He is a merciful God who changes His mind in response to sincere prayer.
  4. Spiritual maturity means putting away childish things — those who have not done so remain spiritual babies.
  5. Accepting what God has already done in Christ is the key to rest, peace, abundance, and elevation.

Love Never Fails — But Prophecy and Knowledge Will Cease

  • Love is the only force that never fails — prophecy, tongues, and knowledge are all partial and temporary.
  • Spiritual maturity is marked by putting away childish things; those who have not done so remain spiritual babies.
  • Love corrects in private and covers in public — a child corrected privately and encouraged publicly can hold their head up.

"Because that is true love. Because love covers. It doesn't tolerate. You will correct. But you cover."

God Cannot Be Impressed — He Can Only Be Known

  • Praying is not difficult when you know who God is — the struggle in prayer comes from not knowing Him.
  • You cannot offer God anything He does not already possess — even the life you have is His.
  • The pursuit of God is not about catching up from a distance; it is the pursuit of seeing His face and knowing Him.

"You can't impress Him. He knows everything."

"The pursuit of seeing His face, the pursuit of knowing Him. That is where the real journey really is."

God's No Eventually Turns Into a Yes

  • God has the ability to change His mind — when Hezekiah cried out at the word of his death, God reversed His decree and added years to his life.
  • Everything God does is to benefit His people, not Himself.
  • God is a merciful God, and through His gracious goodness He preserves His people through love.

"God's no eventually turns into a yes."

The Gospel: Acceptance, Not Achievement

  • Working with God is not a labor — the Lord Jesus has already done all the work.
  • The problem is not the difficulty of the Gospel; it is the lack of discipline to chase after God.
  • The work required of the believer is accepting what Jesus has already done — this is the whole of the Gospel.

"The work would be accepting what Jesus has already done."

Knowing God Produces Rest, Peace, and Elevation

  • When you do not know who God is, you strive to impress Him in areas where He can never be impressed.
  • Knowing God is the foundation for every dimension of life — rest, peace, abundance, and elevation all flow from it.
  • The most difficult thing is simply accepting that God is good — and yet this acceptance unlocks the fullness of all He has ordained.

"When you know who God is, you'll be at rest. When you know who God is, you'll be at peace. When you know who God is, you'll walk in abundance. When you know who God is, you will be elevated."

Key Definitions

Love — Not tolerance. Love corrects privately and covers publicly; it keeps no record of wrongs and never exposes what it can protect. "Love covers. It doesn't tolerate. You will correct. But you cover."

Tolerance — Permissiveness that accepts wrong behaviour without correction — not a biblical expression of love and not to be confused with it.

Spiritual maturity — The state of having put away childish things; marked by walking in love rather than operating in the partial and temporary gifts that characterise spiritual infancy.

The Gospel — The declaration that God loved humanity, gave His Son, and reconciled us to Himself — requiring only acceptance of what has already been done.

Pursuit of God — Not the frantic effort of catching up from a great distance, but the intentional discipline of seeking His face and coming to know Him as He truly is.

Religion — Seeing and approaching God through performance and ritual rather than through Holy Spirit revelation and relationship.

Key Takeaways

  • Love never fails, but all spiritual gifts are temporary — Anchoring your life in love rather than in gifts or knowledge is the mark of spiritual maturity and the only sure foundation.
  • God cannot be impressed — He can only be known — Shifting from a performance posture to a relational pursuit of God's face is what unlocks prayer, rest, and abundance.
  • God's mercy means His "no" is not final — Understanding that God changes His mind in response to sincere prayer removes fatalism and restores hope in every impossible situation.
  • The Gospel requires acceptance, not achievement — The entire work has been completed by Jesus Christ; the believer's role is to receive it, not to add to it.
  • Knowing God is the source of everything — Rest, peace, abundance, and elevation are not achievements to pursue separately — they are the natural fruit of truly knowing who God is.

Reflection Questions

  1. Are you currently approaching God to impress Him or to know Him — and what does your prayer life reveal about which posture you are actually living from?
  2. Is there a situation in your life where you have accepted God's "no" as final — and does the example of Hezekiah challenge you to cry out again?
  3. Where in your life are you still laboring under religious effort rather than resting in what Christ has already finished — and what would it practically look like to stop striving and simply accept?
  4. Who in your life have you exposed, corrected publicly, or kept a record of wrongs against — and what would it require of you to move from tolerance to true love?
  5. If knowing God produces rest, peace, abundance, and elevation — what does the current level of rest and peace in your life tell you about how deeply you actually know Him?

Prayers and Declarations

Lift your voice and praise that the Lord will intervene, that the Lord will rescue her, that she will come out of the situation she is in:

"I want you to pray. So that everything — attack and agenda set up against her sister. Because this is an emergency. Oh, Jesus! This is an emergency. I want you to lift your voice and praise that the Lord will intervene, that the Lord will rescue Ma, that she will come out of the situation that she is in because the Lord Jesus is able to save and deliver, lift your voice and begin to pray."

Mama, hold Anna's hands with your two hands and lift your voice to pray:

"Father, you said two is better than one. What you have given me, you are giving to my grandchild. Father, I pray in the name of Jesus as we lift our voice. May your will be done for the family. The spirit of death be broken. The spirit of anti-marriage be broken. Spirit of witchcraft be broken. We are going to excel. We are going to make it. My daughters will make it. My grandchildren will make it."

Closing Prayer

"Father, I pray for your people. And as I pray for myself also, my Lord and my God reveal yourself unto us more. Open our eyes to see, cause us to be sober in mind and in spirit, that Lord we will seek clearly your goodness and your kindness that is never changing.

Father, I pray that your transforming grace will bring us to a place of knowing your ancient ways, to know You as You are. Father, we don't want to see You through the eyes of religion. We want to see You through the eyes of the Holy Spirit.

Let everyone that has heard this message know the Gospel. And the Gospel is Lord, You have loved us, You gave Your Son for us and You have reconciled us unto Yourself. Our only duty is to accept what You have done.

Father, bless everybody that has heard this message. Cleanse us of every iniquity. Forgive our sin. Forgive the sins of our heart, the wrong perception we have of You. Cause us to be illuminated today that we may receive all that is in Christ Jesus.

Father, be glorified now and forever in the name of Your Holy Son, Your only Son, Jesus Christ."
