Unlocking the Power in Words: Why Your Words Are Only as Powerful as What Fills You
Unlocking the Power in Words · Part 3 of 3
Your words will never carry divine power until the Word of God becomes the very DNA flowing through you.
The power of your words is not determined by your passion, your personality, or your spiritual gifts — it is determined by whether the Word of God fills you from the inside out. God speaks and it comes to pass because He is the Word. For your words to carry that same creative, transformative power, the Word must become the content of your being — your DNA, your daily diet, your very nature.
Teaching Overview
- You cannot unlock the power in your words unless your words are clothed in God's Word — powerless Christianity is Christianity built outside the mind of God.
- The DNA of God is the Word; unless your blood is filled with the Word of God, your words will never have power.
- The anointing is not a gift — it is what fuels the gift, and it is always produced by the Word of God.
- You do not restrain the flesh; you transform the flesh by the DNA of the Word moving within it.
- The best prophet of your life is you, because you know everything about yourself — and your words are either building or destroying that life.
Key Distinctions
| Form | Power | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | External appearance of godliness | The actual transformative force of God at work |
| Its source | Human activity and religious routine | The Word of God filling the believer from within |
| What it produces | Nothing — it sounds like God but is not God | Transformation, things coming to pass, motion |
| God's design | Not the call — God did not call you to His image alone | God called you to carry the attributes within Him |
| Personality | Character | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | God's unique fingerprint in you | Your attitude and posture before God |
| Its origin | Given by God at creation | Shaped by choices, corrected by the Word |
| Does God change it? | Never — God preserves your personality | Yes — God adjusts and corrects your character |
| What corrects it | Nothing — it is not the problem | The Word of God alone discerns and descends the heart |
| Gift | Anointing | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A natural or prophetic ability given to you | The seal of God's approval; what fuels the gift |
| How it comes | Given — not earned, not asked for, not chosen | Produced by the Word of God in the believer |
| Your role in it | None — a gift has nothing to do with you | Obedience, love for God, and immersion in the Word |
| What it produces | Skill, talent, ability | Power, the Word, and transformative output |
| Can it exist without the Word? | Yes — gifting operates independently | No — anointing without the Word is talent, not anointing |
| Priest | King | Prophet | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary function | Minister of God; holder of the Word of God | Rules and exercises authority | Speaks God's mind over the future |
| What is lacking without it | The Word — and therefore everything | Power without priestly grounding | Accuracy without the Word as foundation |
| Jesus fulfils it as | High Priest | King of Kings | The Prophet foretold |
| True Prophecy | Revelation of the Past | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Speaking what is going to take place | Disclosing what has already happened |
| Its purpose | To declare the future and alter it by the spoken Word | To affirm the person and establish credibility |
| Is it prophecy? | Yes — this is prophecy | No — revealing the past is not prophecy |
| Its power | In the declared word over the future | In building faith so the prophetic word is received |
| Restraint of the Flesh | Transformation of the Flesh | |
|---|---|---|
| What it does | Suppresses sin temporarily | Changes the nature from within |
| Its result | Makes sin worse — what you are told not to do is what you want more | Displaces sin by filling the DNA with the Word |
| Its source | Willpower and human promises | The Word of God moving within the DNA |
| Its fruit | Broken promises, repeated failure, powerlessness | Genuine, sustained change |
Prophecy Is the Speaking of God's Mind
- Prophecy does not require a vision or an audible voice — it requires knowing what God's mind is and speaking it.
- When what is spoken comes to pass, it qualifies as prophecy, because prophecy only comes to edify and build up.
- Prophecy has to do with the future, not the past — the past is only given to affirm the person and establish faith for what is being declared.
"Prophecy only comes to edifying to build up."
"Revealing the past is not prophecy. It's what is going to take place that is prophecy."
You Cannot Unlock Your Words Without God's Word
- God does nothing without His Word, because His Word is spirit and it is life.
- For your words to be powerful, they must be clothed in God's Word — the only One who speaks and it comes to pass is God.
- If your Christianity is built outside the mind of God — which is His Word — you are automatically powerless, without debate or exception.
"You cannot unlock the power in your words unless your words are clothed in God's word."
"Anyone who speaks anything outside of God, it will never come to pass because it is only God who has power over every single thing created and visible and invisible."
Form Without Power Is Not from God
- Having a form of godliness without power is not authentic — anything that does not produce power is not from God.
- If it does not produce the power to transform, make things come to pass, or put things into motion, it is not God — it only sounds like God.
- God did not call you to be made in His form or image alone; He called you to carry the attributes that are within Him.
"Anything that doesn't produce power is not from God."
"God did not just call you to be made in his form or his image. He called you to carry the attributes that are within him."
The DNA of God Is the Word
- The measure of how much the Holy Spirit fills you is determined by the Word of God — the Word increases your capacity for the Spirit to contain more.
- The Holy Spirit cannot carry you beyond your own understanding; depth in God requires depth in His Word.
- Just as physical DNA carries the makeup of a parent into a child, the Word of God is the DNA of the Father — and it must fill your DNA for you to carry His nature.
"The DNA of God is the word. If I am going to have the DNA of God, my DNA must be filled with the word of God."
God Changes Your Character, Not Your Personality
- Your personality is God's fingerprint in you — God will never change it.
- Your character is your attitude before God — and God will adjust it.
- The only thing that corrects the heart and reveals what is going on within you is the Word of God.
"Your personality is God's fingerprint in you. Your character is your attitude before God."
The Coats of Skins: Spiritual DNA Exposed
- When Adam and Eve sinned, their spiritual nakedness was not a lack of clothing — their spiritual DNA was exposed and corrupted.
- God made coats of skins to cover their spiritual nature, not to address external nakedness.
- The moment Adam sinned, he diluted the Word that was his DNA — which is why he could no longer remain in the Garden; he had become something different.
"The nakedness is that their spiritual nature was exposed because their DNA was corrupted. They were no longer the word."
The Word Produces the Anointing
- If you have someone who appears anointed but lacks the Word, they are not anointed — they are talented.
- A gift is given with no input from the recipient; the anointing is what fuels the gift and is the result of the Word.
- There is no one in Scripture who was anointed whose anointing did not produce power, a message, or the Word.
"It is the word that produces the anointing. If you have an anointed person without the word is not anointed, it's talented."
"Anyone who was anointed had a message, because the anointing comes to produce the word, to give you the power to preach the word better."
Transformation, Not Restraint, Overcomes Sin
- The only One who keeps you from sinning against God is God Himself — restraining the flesh in your own strength makes sin worse.
- Everything you have been told not to do becomes what you want to do most — because willpower without the Word is powerless.
- The flesh is not overcome by holding it back; it is transformed by the DNA of the Word of God moving within it.
"You don't restrain the flesh. You transform the flesh by the DNA that is moving in it."
"The only one who keeps you from sinning against God is God himself, watching in you."
You Are a Product of Your Words
- Life and death are in the power of the tongue — where you are right now is a product of what you have spoken.
- Samuel had so much of the Word of God within him that his words could not fall — he was completely changed.
- The best prophet of your life is you, because no one knows you better — and your words are either building or destroying what God has called you to become.
"You are a product of your words. You are what you are because of what you speak."
"The best prophet of your life is you. No one is a better prophet and more accurate prophet of your life than you."
What Is Flowing in You?
- Your entire being — spirit, soul, and body — is dependent on the flow of the Word, because man shall not live by bread alone.
- The information flowing within you determines how you see every circumstance — the right information reveals a way where there is no way.
- If it is easy for you to curse or think negatively, the content of the Word of God is low within you, and your words cannot carry power.
"Man shall not live by bread alone. It means your entire being is dependent on the flow of the word."
"If it's easy for you to curse, if it's easy for you to think negative, it means the content of the word of God is less in you."
Key Definitions
Prophecy — The speaking of God's mind; it concerns what is going to take place, not the disclosure of the past, and it only comes to edify and build up.
Anointing — Not a gift, but what fuels the gift; it is the seal of God's approval and is always produced by the Word of God in the believer.
Gift — An ability given to a person with no contribution from the recipient — it has nothing to do with you, and it does not by itself indicate anointing.
Personality — God's unique fingerprint in a person; God never changes it.
Character — A person's attitude before God; it is corrected and adjusted by the Word of God.
Form of Godliness — Religious activity or spiritual appearance that produces no power and no transformation — it sounds like God but is not God.
Key Takeaways
- Your words are only as powerful as the Word that fills you — powerless Christianity is the automatic result of living outside the mind of God, which is His Word.
- The DNA of God is His Word, and it must become your DNA — without it, you carry no divine nature, no transformative power, and no authority in your declarations.
- The anointing is always produced by the Word, never apart from it — what appears to be anointing without the Word is talent, skill, or gifting — not the seal of God.
- The flesh is transformed, not restrained — every promise you make to stop sinning in your own strength fails because only God Himself, working through His Word in you, can keep you from sin.
- You are the best prophet of your own life — because you know yourself completely, your words over yourself carry more prophetic weight than you realise, and they are either declaring life or declaring death.
Reflection Questions
- When you examine your daily life honestly — your vocabulary, your default thoughts, your reactions under pressure — what does that reveal about how much of God's Word is actually flowing within you?
- Are you pursuing the anointing more than the Word? How might that imbalance be limiting both your spiritual depth and the power of your words?
- Where have you been trying to restrain sin through willpower and repeated promises, rather than allowing the Word of God to transform you from the inside? What would it look like to make the shift?
- If you are the best prophet of your own life, what have your words been declaring over yourself, your future, and your circumstances — and do those declarations align with the mind of God?
- What specific, daily habit change would move you from occasional Bible exposure toward the kind of Word-saturated life where your words begin to carry divine weight?
