Destroying Limitations: Closing Your Physical Eyes to See God's Vision
The greatest limitation you face is not external — it is your inability to see beyond your current circumstances into the vision God has already ordained for you.
The land God has promised you extends as far as your eyes can see — but the eyes He is speaking of are not physical. God's ordained blessing for you and your descendants cannot be perceived through sight, comparison, or comfort. It can only be accessed through spiritual revelation, expanded vision, and the willingness to close your physical eyes and trust His Spirit completely.
Teaching Overview
- God accomplishes His will on earth through anointed people — not through circumstances, land, or things — and who you follow determines what is released in your environment.
- The greatest limitation believers face is not demonic opposition but their own inability to receive God's vision through spiritual revelation rather than physical sight.
- God uses discomfort, fire, and the removal of comfort — including relationships and familiar methods — to expand your territory and force you toward your ordained blessing.
- Your capacity determines the measure of God's blessing you receive — and it is your responsibility, not God's, to expand that capacity beyond comfort and comparison.
- Walking by faith with eyes closed to external validation and open to the Spirit is the pathway to possessing the full inheritance God has ordained for you and your descendants.
Key Distinctions
| Physical Sight | Spiritual Vision | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Perceiving through the five senses — eyes, ears, touch, emotion | Revelation deposited by the Holy Spirit directly into the spirit of man |
| What it produces | Comparison, limitation, comfort-seeking, and settling | Expansion, pioneer movement, and possession of God-ordained territory |
| How it operates | Reacts to what others have, what has already been done, what is visible | Receives what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and what has not yet entered the hearts of men |
| Its danger | Opens the door to limitation by anchoring you to what already exists | Can be suppressed by comfort, external validation, and too many opinions |
| Biblical example | Adam and Eve after the Fall — "their eyes were opened" and they stopped navigating by spirit | Abraham after Lot's departure — God said "lift up your eyes" and showed him what the physical eye alone could never comprehend |
| What God requires | God does not lead through the physical eye — what He wants to give you has not been done by anybody yet | Closing your eyes to comfort, comparison, and external opinion so the Spirit can lead without interruption |
God Accomplishes His Will Through Anointed People
- God does not anoint things — He anoints people, and those people become the containers of God's blessing in the earth.
- Whenever God wants to bless a nation, He does not bless the land — He anoints someone who carries the blessing, and things change because of their presence.
- Who you elect, who you follow, who leads you — these decisions matter because what a person carries determines the outcome of where you are.
"God does not anoint things. You are anointed people."
God's Greatest Investment Is a Man
- God's greatest investment is not the earth — it is a man, because if man is in God's hands, the earth is in God's hands.
- God gave the earth to man, and because God does not live on earth but wants His will done on earth, He cannot perform what He wants to do without a willing human vessel.
- One man — Jesus — made the difference to redeem the whole earth, and in this hour, Jesus is inside of you.
"If God is in you, who can be against you? Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. There is no obstacle that can keep you."
The True Source of Your Limitations
- Most believers' limitations are not caused by the devil — anything that is demonic, the name of Jesus fixes in a second, because Jesus has already broken the grip of the enemy over everyone who is truly in Christ.
- The greatest limitation you face is not because of what your mother did, your father did, your ex-husband, your ex-wife, or any heartbreak — it is because of you.
- Limitation is connected to your ability to see — your ability to perceive what God has ordained for you determines whether your territory expands or remains small.
"The greatest limitation that you face, it is not because of somebody else, but it is because of you."
God Uses Discomfort to Force Expansion
- God will allow you to enter the fire you feared most, and when you come through it, your capacity increases — the fire that was supposed to destroy you becomes an ally.
- Just as eagles pull the cushion from the nest so that thorns press the young eagle into flight, God removes comfort from your life so that you are forced to act — to fly.
- God will deliberately cause what used to work to stop working, not because the devil is doing it, but because what served you in a previous season is not sufficient for the new season He is moving you into.
"Some of you, the pain is forcing you to fly."
Comfort Is Satan's Strongest Limitation Strategy
- Comfort is one of the greatest and strongest bricks Satan positions you in to keep you within limitations.
- When Abraham took Lot with him — his source of comfort and family — he arrived in the Promised Land and did not even know he was there, because comfort makes it impossible to tap into the vision of God.
- Lot, having no mission from God, chose by natural inclination — he gravitated toward Sodom and Gomorrah, the familiar and attractive — proving that without a word from God, you will always choose what looks good rather than what is ordained.
"When you carry comfort with you, it is impossible for you to tap into the vision of God."
God Speaks Through the Spirit of Revelation, Not Validation
- There is an internal GPS God placed in your spirit — when He points you in a direction, that GPS will place you exactly where you need to be, as He did with Jacob, who slept unknowingly at the gates of heaven.
- The moment Lot separated from Abraham, inspiration entered Abraham — God began to tell him to look north, south, east, and west, and to take possession of everything his eye could see.
- One of the killers of destiny is seeking the approval of people before executing what God has already spoken — God tells you something so that you can execute it, not so that others can validate it.
"Did God tell you so that people can support you? Or did God tell you so that you can execute it?"
Your Capacity Determines the Measure of Your Blessing
- God promised Abraham that as far as his eye could see, the land would belong to him and his descendants — and it was Abraham's vision that set the borders, because that is how far his eye could see.
- God fills your capacity — but it is your responsibility to expand that capacity, not His; the Bible says He will pour out a blessing you will not have room enough to receive, meaning whatever capacity you make available, God can overflow it.
- The worst measurement of success is comparing yourself to the people you grew up with — because the world is vastly larger, there are different levels and different dimensions, and God is measuring whether you can see as He sees.
"The worst measurement you can ever have of success is comparing yourself to the people you grew up with."
Physical Eyes Are the Gateway to Limitation
- Man fell because his eyes were opened — after eating the fruit, Adam and Eve stopped navigating with their spirit and began navigating with their eyes, and that is when shame, limitation, and separation from God's design entered.
- Before the Fall, Adam and Eve knew they were naked and were not ashamed — but after, they saw it; the shift from knowing in the spirit to seeing with the eye is the source of human limitation.
- What God has prepared for those who love Him cannot be perceived by the eye, ear, or any of the five senses — because what He wants to do for you has not been done by anybody yet, and if He showed you only what others have, He would have limited you.
"Man fell because your eyes were opened. You stop navigating with your spirit, you start navigating with your eyes."
Walking by Faith Means Closing Your Eyes to the External
- God finds those who will walk by faith — not by sight, not by comparison, not by what others are doing — and to them He entrusts the vision that torments the heart until it is fulfilled.
- Walking by faith means being dependent on the Holy Spirit to lead — but when you carry too many opinions, when He turns you left and you question it, God cannot guide you because you are not willing to be led.
- The vision is for an appointed time — it shall not tarry; the assignment is to close your eyes, follow what God has placed in your heart, and keep moving past every level that tempts you to stop and settle.
"For you to see what God wants you to see, without the spirit of revelation, and without being uncomfortable, you will never see what God wants you to see."
Key Definitions
Anointing — God's empowerment deposited in a person, not a place or thing, that causes change, blessing, and transformation in the environment where that person is present.
Vision — Not physical sight, but the revelation God delivers into the spirit of a person by His Spirit — it cannot be perceived by the eye, ear, or any of the five senses, because what God wants to do has not yet been done by anyone.
Comfort — The state of settling within familiar circumstances, relationships, or achievements that prevents a believer from accessing the full territory God has ordained; described as one of Satan's strongest strategies to keep believers in limitation.
Capacity — The measure of God's blessing a person is able to receive and hold; God fills whatever capacity is made available and overflows it, but it is the believer's responsibility — not God's — to expand it.
Internal GPS — The God-given spiritual faculty within the human spirit that, when surrendered to the Holy Spirit, leads a person precisely to the place and purpose God has ordained — not by external signs, but by divine positioning.
Walking by faith — Operating with physical eyes closed to external comparison, validation, and sight, and being fully dependent on what the Holy Spirit places in the heart as the exclusive guide for movement and decision.
Key Takeaways
- God accomplishes His will through anointed people, not through circumstances or land — who you follow and who leads you directly determines what blessing is released in your environment.
- Your greatest limitation is not demonic — it is your inability to see beyond your current circumstances — because Jesus has already broken the enemy's grip, and what remains is your own restricted vision.
- Discomfort, fire, and the removal of familiar things are God's instruments for expanding your territory — the pain is not the enemy's attack but God's method of forcing you out of the nest and into flight.
- Your capacity determines what you receive from God, and it is your responsibility to expand it — God will overflow whatever capacity you make available, but He will not expand it for you.
- What God has prepared for you cannot be seen with physical eyes — it must be received by the Spirit — and closing your eyes to comparison, external validation, and physical sight is the prerequisite for accessing your full ordained inheritance.
Reflection Questions
- In what areas of your life are you still navigating by physical sight — comparing yourself to others, measuring success by what you can see — rather than by the spirit of revelation God has placed in your heart?
- What comfort — a relationship, a familiar environment, a method that used to work — might God be removing right now in order to force you into the expansion He has ordained for you?
- Have you been seeking validation from family, friends, or peers before executing what God has already spoken to you? What would it look like to move forward on His word alone, without their approval?
- How far does your vision currently extend — and is that as far as God intended, or have you settled at a level of comfort that feels like success but is still short of your ordained territory?
- If you truly believed that what God has for you is so vast that your descendants will still be walking in it, what specific decision or step would you make differently this week?
Prayers and Declarations
Lift up your hands wherever you are:
"In the mighty name of Jesus, same Father, expand my vision. Father, expand my vision. Beyond my situation, beyond my situation. Beyond my current circumstances, in the mighty name of Jesus, in the mighty name of Jesus."
"I decree and declare in the name of Jesus. There are miracles about to manifest."
"I am proficient to somebody with my eyes closed and my eyes open. There is a vision that God is delivering into you. By the spirit of revelation."
