Revelation Knowledge: The Mind of the Spirit Pt. B

Revelation Knowledge: The Mind of the Spirit Pt. B

Teaching by Prophet Lovy L. Elias · Watch on YouTube · 14 July 2024

Accessing God's promises requires spiritual faculties, not natural understanding.

The Christian life operates through supernatural principles, not natural senses. Moving from sense knowledge to revelation knowledge is essential to claiming the promises of God and walking in the fullness of what Christ accomplished through His death and resurrection.

Teaching Overview

  1. The Christian life is supernatural—divinity at work in the midst of humanity—and operates through principles, not magic or sentiment.
  2. God has already secured victory, healing, success, and provision for believers through Christ's resurrection; claiming these blessings requires action and understanding of God's principles.
  3. Three foundational keys unlock success: wisdom (for building), understanding (for establishing), and knowledge (for filling with riches)—all of which demand spiritual, not natural, comprehension.
  4. The natural man operates by five physical senses and a natural mind that cannot receive or comprehend the things of God; the things of God are spiritually discerned.
  5. Spiritual understanding—activated through the Holy Spirit—functions as the "cable box" that allows believers to receive and decode the frequency of God's Word and revelation knowledge.
  6. The believer must activate spiritual eyes and spiritual ears to perceive what God is communicating and to understand the coded language of Scripture, moving entirely from sense knowledge to revelation knowledge.

Foundation: The Christian Life is Supernatural

  • The Christian life is not magic; it is supernatural—divinity at work in the midst of humanity.
  • Miraculous outcomes may appear magical to those outside God's kingdom, but they are the result of supernatural principle operating through God's people.
  • God operates through divine order and established principles, not arbitrary power or sentiment.

"The Christian life is not magic. It is supernatural. It is divinity at work in the midst of humanity."

God's Promise: Victory and Provision Are Your Portion

  • Victory, success, healing, deliverance, and billions are your God-given portion today.
  • Every dream placed within you by God is destined to come to pass; with God, all things are possible.
  • Christ's resurrection secured everything your heart has ever desired; you must act to bring His provision into reality.

"I came here to tell somebody the victory is your portion today. Success is your portion today. Healing and deliverance is your portion today."

"Every dream that you have ever had, God didn't put it on the inside of you for nothing. He put the dream on the inside of you because He wants to bring it to pass."

Christ's Victory Secured Deliverance from All Evil

  • Jesus was manifested to destroy the works of the devil; He spoiled principalities and powers and made a show of them openly.
  • When Christ rose from the dead, He triumphed over sin, sickness, worry, anxiety, fear, failure, pain, and poverty.
  • His resurrection was to give believers everything their hearts have ever desired.

"When he rose from the dead, it was to give you everything that your heart has ever desired."

Principles Govern God's Kingdom

  • God is a God of principles; the Christian life works by principles, not by feelings or circumstances.
  • If you are ignorant of God's principles, you may have faith but fail to apply the principles correctly and cut yourself short.
  • Keys—representing principles and understanding—give access; with a key, you do not beg, plead, or pray for entry; you simply unlock the door.

"The Christian life works by principles. God is a God of principles."

"If you have a key, you don't need to beg. If you got a key, you don't even pray. You just put the key in the door and you enter."

Definition of Principles

  • A principle is the foundation for a belief system or behavior; it is the core belief undergirding a system or the core practices undergirding behavior.
  • Principles are universally applicable: they work regardless of gender, race, age, or location.
  • Principles are transferable: they can be learned, acquired, applied, and will work for anyone who understands and applies them.

"A principle is the foundation. It is the foundation for a belief system or a behavior. It is the core belief that undergirds a belief system or the core principles that undergird a behavior."

Separating the Person of Jesus from His Principles

  • The person of Jesus guarantees salvation and eternal security; the principles of Jesus guarantee earthly security, success, and well-being.
  • The person of Jesus secures eternity; the principles of Jesus secure marriage, business, children, and earthly prosperity.
  • Many Christians are on fire for Jesus and prayer warriors but struggle on earth because they know the person of Jesus but not the principles of Jesus.

"The person of Jesus guarantees your salvation. But the principles of Jesus guarantee your eternal security... The person of Jesus has to do with eternity. But the principles of Jesus have to do with the earth."

The Evil of Inverted Order

  • An evil under the sun is that princes—the redeemed, the royal priesthood, the chosen generation—walk as slaves while those who do not know Jesus ride on horses.
  • Princes are called to be the head and not the tail, above and not beneath; this inversion is a contradiction and a paradox.
  • The present order where believers struggle while unbelievers prosper contradicts God's intended design and covenant promise.

"It looks like things are flipped upside down. It's not supposed to be like that. Because the princes are supposed to be the head and not the tail. To be above and not beneath."

Three Keys to Building Success and Riches

  • Through wisdom a house—a life, home, family, business—is built; through understanding it is established on a sound foundation; through knowledge its rooms are filled with precious and pleasant riches.
  • These three—wisdom, understanding, knowledge—are the foundational keys, not love or sentiment, though love is included.
  • Success in marriage, business, and family life depends on understanding and applying these three principles.

"Through wisdom a house is built and by understanding it is established and by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with precious and pleasant riches."

Knowledge: Satan's Primary Target

  • For lack of knowledge, God's people are destroyed; Satan's number one weapon is ignorance.
  • Ignorance is a choice in the age of information; rejection of knowledge carries generational repercussions affecting children and children's children.
  • What you do not know can kill you; if you are ignorant, the enemy will exploit it and destroy you.

"For lack of knowledge my people are destroyed. Satan's number one weapon against the believer, against the Christian, is ignorance."

"What you don't know can kill you. If you are ignorant of something, the enemy will exploit it and use it to destroy it."

Knowledge Must Be Applied

  • Knowledge is power, especially when applied; revelation without application produces no fruit.
  • Believers receive revelation continually but fail to do something with it—they teach it but do not apply it.
  • Applying knowledge and revelation transforms revelation into reality and victory.

"Knowledge is power, especially if applied... We got no excuse! It's because we don't apply it."

Understanding: The Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation

  • The Spirit of the Lord rests upon believers in the form of the spirit of wisdom and understanding, counsel and might, knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
  • Understanding refers to the natural mind; when Paul prayed in tongues, his spirit prayed but his understanding remained unfruitful because his natural mind could not process spiritual language.
  • Spiritual understanding—not natural understanding—is required to grasp the full import of what God is communicating.

Paul's Prayer for Spiritual Knowledge

  • Paul prayed that the saints be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.
  • There is nothing better than being in the center of God's will concerning marriage, business, and everyday work.
  • Knowing God's will requires spiritual understanding, not natural reasoning.

"There is nothing better than being right smack in the center of God's will."

The Natural Man Cannot Receive Spiritual Things

  • The natural man cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God; they appear as foolishness to him because the things of God are spiritually discerned.
  • With natural faculties, natural mind, and natural understanding, you can never connect with God or walk with Him.
  • You cannot claim the promises of God or achieve success if you operate only by natural senses.

"The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."

The Natural Man Operates by Physical Senses

  • The natural man operates by five physical senses—sight, smell, touch, taste, hearing—which gather information and communicate it to the natural mind.
  • The natural mind processes this physical information and develops understanding based solely on what the senses report.
  • Physical information creates patterns of behavior and belief; the body communicates directly to the natural mind what is safe, dangerous, true, or false.

The Cable Box: Spiritual Understanding as Receiver

  • Just as television signals (CNN, Fox, BET, UFC) broadcast constantly through the air but require a cable box and satellite dish to be captured and displayed, spiritual frequencies and God's communications exist constantly but require a receiver.
  • The cable box is the Holy Ghost; without the Holy Ghost inside you, you cannot understand what God is saying.
  • The things of God are available in the air, but without spiritual understanding—the Holy Ghost—your spirit cannot capture them.

"If you don't got the Holy Ghost on the inside of you, you cannot understand the things that God is saying."

The Word of God is Coded Language

  • The Word of God is coded language—encrypted communication that requires spiritual understanding to decode.
  • All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness; the words Jesus speaks are spirit and life.
  • Reading God's Word with natural senses alone will not reveal its healing, restoration, and life because spiritual understanding is required to decrypt the message.

"The Word of God is coded language. It takes something extra to be able to decode what is in the book and it's called spiritual understanding."

Spiritual Eyes and Ears: The Requirement for Knowing God

  • You can never know God with your natural eyes; it requires spiritual eyes and spiritual ears to hear God, see the things of God, and understand the things of God.
  • David was not naturally blind when he prayed, "Open my eyes that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law"; he was asking God to open his spiritual eyes.
  • When you read Scripture with natural sight alone, you will not grasp it; you need spiritual eyes to be opened to see spiritual reality.

"Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in thy law. When I read the Bible with my natural sight, I'm not gonna get it. I need my spiritual eyes to be opened to seize spiritual reality."

Paul's Prayer: The Eyes of Your Understanding Enlightened

  • Paul prayed that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ would give believers the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him; that the eyes of their understanding be enlightened.
  • The eyes of understanding refer to spiritual eyes; you can never know God with natural faculties—you need spiritual eyes and spiritual ears.
  • Enlightened understanding reveals the hope of your calling, the riches of your inheritance, and the exceeding greatness of God's power toward those who believe.

"You can never know God with your natural eyes. It's going to take your spiritual eyes, your spiritual eyes, and your spiritual ears to hear God, and to see the things of God, and to understand the things of God. It's called Revelation Knowledge."

Jesus Unrecognized Without Spiritual Eyes

  • In Luke 24, Jesus walked with His disciples, but their eyes were held so that they could not recognize Him; the eyes being held refers to spiritual eyes.
  • Though the disciples had been with Jesus three and a half years and knew Him, their spiritual eyes were held closed, and they could not know Him.
  • With natural senses alone, you will never know Jesus.

"With your natural senses, you would never know Jesus."

Spiritual Reality Revealed Through Revelation

  • God will take you out of the natural and show you things in the spirit; you are a spirit being, and God communicates with your spirit.
  • Your spiritual eyes must function; your spiritual ears must function; your spiritual faculties must operate properly so you can receive everything God is telling you.
  • A spirit being recognizes spiritual reality when spiritual faculties are activated.

"God will take you out of the natural and show you some things in the spirit."

Shift from Sense Knowledge to Revelation Knowledge

  • A shift from sense knowledge to revelation knowledge is required to access God's purposes and promises.
  • Spiritual understanding enables believers to comprehend the things of God and to walk in His will.
  • Many believers are missing God's blessings because they are trying to have a relationship with Jesus in the natural instead of the spiritual.

Key Definitions

Principle — The foundation for a belief system or behavior; the core belief undergirding a system or the core practices undergirding behavior, universally applicable and transferable to anyone who understands and applies it.

Revelation Knowledge — Spiritual knowledge received and understood through the Holy Spirit and spiritual faculties; the ability to decode God's coded language and perceive spiritual reality.

Spiritual Understanding — The capacity to comprehend and process the things of God through the Holy Ghost; the spiritual mind in contrast to the natural mind.

The Person of Jesus — The incarnate Christ whose death and resurrection secured salvation, eternal security, and victory over all evil forces.

The Principles of Jesus — The foundational laws and truths governing God's kingdom that produce earthly success, prosperity, healthy relationships, and well-being when understood and applied.

Sense Knowledge — Knowledge acquired through the five physical senses (sight, sound, smell, taste, touch) and processed by the natural mind; limited to material, observable reality and incapable of perceiving spiritual truth.

Key Takeaways

  • The Christian life is supernatural and principle-based, not magical or sentimental. Operating by God's established principles is the pathway to accessing the victory, healing, and provision Christ secured through His resurrection.

  • The Person of Jesus secures eternity; the Principles of Jesus secure earthly success. Many believers know Jesus personally but neglect His principles and therefore struggle financially, relationally, and professionally despite their faith.

  • Three keys unlock all success: Wisdom (building), Understanding (establishing), and Knowledge (filling with riches). Applying these three foundational principles to marriage, business, family, and life decisions produces lasting abundance.

  • The natural man cannot receive the things of the Spirit; spiritual faculties must be activated. Your five physical senses and natural mind are insufficient to know God or claim His promises; you need spiritual eyes, spiritual ears, and spiritual understanding.

  • The Holy Ghost is your spiritual receiver; without Him, you cannot decode God's coded Word. Just as a television cannot capture broadcast signals without a cable box, your spirit cannot comprehend God's communications without the indwelling Holy Ghost.

  • Revelation knowledge requires moving entirely from sense-based thinking to spirit-based perception. Believers must shift from relying on what they can see, hear, and reason naturally to perceiving and understanding what God reveals spiritually.

Reflection Questions

  1. In what areas of your life are you currently operating by sense knowledge (what you can see, feel, and reason naturally) instead of revelation knowledge (what God is speaking spiritually)? What would change if you shifted entirely to spiritual understanding in those areas?

  2. You know the Person of Jesus—but which of His principles do you actually apply in your marriage, business, finances, and parenting? Which principles are you neglecting, and what is the cost?

  3. What specific revelation from Scripture or from God's Word have you received but never applied? What is holding you back from doing something with that knowledge?

  4. When you read the Bible or hear God's Word preached, are your spiritual eyes and ears truly open and active, or are they "held" so that you cannot perceive what God is saying? What would activation of your spiritual faculties require from you?

  5. In what specific situation this week can you refuse to rely solely on your natural senses and circumstances, and instead ask God to open your spiritual eyes to see His purpose and provision?
