Secrets, Mysteries, and Revelations: Walking in the Dimensions of Divine Intimacy

Secrets, Mysteries, and Revelations: Walking in the Dimensions of Divine Intimacy

Teaching by Prophet Lovy L. Elias · Watch on YouTube · 21 November 2025

Spiritual intimacy with God is not earned through worship or obedience — it is determined by how high God has invited you into His counsel through revelation, mysteries, and secrets.

Intimacy with God is not what most believers assume it to be. It is not measured by the fervency of your worship, the consistency of your obedience, or the absence of sin in your life. True intimacy is determined by how close God has drawn you into His counsel — through revelation, mysteries, and secrets. These three dimensions are not theological luxuries. They are the markers of genuine spiritual depth, and they directly determine your spiritual perception, your readiness for eternity, and the power that is expressed through your life.

Teaching Overview

  1. Spiritual intimacy with God is not produced by worship or obedience — it is determined by how high God has invited you into His counsel through revelation, mysteries, and secrets.
  2. The rapture will not leave believers behind because of sin — it will leave them behind because of a lack of spiritual wisdom, insight, and perception.
  3. Revelation is not the creation of new truth — it is the impartation of heaven's perception, enabling you to see what has always existed but could not be seen without divine light.
  4. God draws near to the flawed and dependent, not the self-sufficient and outwardly perfect, because dependency on God is the foundation of true proximity to Him.
  5. Prophetic depth and spiritual sight are determined by where you stand in the heavenlies — and that position is set by divine invitation, not personal achievement.

Key Distinctions

RevelationMysteriesSecrets
What it isHeaven's perception imparted to you — the light that makes visible what already existsTruths that remain concealed to most believers; not fully resolved in this ageThings deliberately hidden by God; concealed by nature, not just by lack of perception
NatureNot concealed — simply unseen without divine lightRemain in the kingdom; not eliminated by the New TestamentRemain in the kingdom; God is full of them
How it comesThrough divine impartation — not study, not human teachingThrough divine invitation and proximity to GodThrough God drawing you close into His counsel
What it producesWisdom and knowledge of God; heavenly sight in real timeDepth of spiritual understanding beyond surface-level truthTrue intimacy — closeness to God's counsel
Common errorTreating study as equivalent to revelationClaiming mysteries no longer exist after the New TestamentAssuming worship or obedience produces this closeness
Marker of its absenceTreating symptoms instead of roots; seeing only surface realitiesInability to see beyond what is written; misreading ScriptureConfusing obedience or performance with intimacy with God

Worship / PraiseObedienceIntimacy with God
What it isHonouring God in spirit and in truthFollowing God's commands and lawBeing drawn into God's counsel through revelation, mysteries, and secrets
Required?Advised, not demandedYes — you must obey GodNot commanded — the Bible never says "be intimate with God"
Who controls itThe believerThe believerGod alone — you cannot control how close He draws you
What it producesAcceptable offering according to where you areFaithfulness and fruitfulnessAccess to God's secrets, heavenly sight, prophetic depth
Error when confused with intimacyBelieving fervency of worship equals closeness to GodBelieving perfection earns God's proximityBelieving you can achieve it through religious performance

Return (Prodigal)Transcend / Elevate
What it meansComing back to a place you have been beforeBeing taken to a higher place you have never occupied
Who initiates itThe person returningGod — by divine invitation
Biblical exampleThe prodigal son returning homeJohn being shown heavenly realities in Revelation
Applicable command"Return to God" — a genuine biblical callNot commanded — it is granted, not achieved
Key distinctionYou can only return where you have already beenYou cannot elevate yourself to where you have never been invited

Wisdom (Five Wise Virgins)Foolishness (Five Foolish Virgins)
Outward appearanceVirgins — pure, without offence toward GodVirgins — equally pure in outward conduct
What they hadOil in their lamps — spiritual insight, perception, ability to seeNo oil — no spiritual insight, no ability to perceive
When the call camePositioned themselves correctlyCould not position themselves — lacked spiritual sight
OutcomeTaken by the BridegroomLeft outside — not because of sin but because of lack of wisdom
What this teachesReadiness for the rapture is a matter of spiritual perceptionExternal purity without spiritual wisdom is insufficient preparation

TestimonyPride Disguised as Repentance
What it declaresGod's deliverance and mercy toward the speakerWhat the speaker used to do — and what others around them did
FocusGod's grace and powerThe speaker's past and other people's failures
Biblical parallelThe thief on the cross: "We deserve our punishment, but He is innocent"The Pharisee in the temple listing what he does not do
What it reveals about the heartDependency on God and gratitude for forgivenessPride — absence of actually knowing God

Spiritual Perception and the Opening of Eyes

  • Spiritual perception and spiritual sight operate together — perception becomes reality.
  • Adam and Eve were not physically blind before the Fall; they lacked mental perception of physical reality because their understanding proceeded entirely from God Himself.
  • When they ate the fruit, they began perceiving realities outside of God — and for those realities to be processed, their physical eyes had to open to a dimension of carnal knowledge.

"Your eyes are openings of understanding, not just physical sight."

Expulsion from the Garden and the Nature of Carnality

  • Adam was not made from the soil of the garden — he was made from the earth and placed into the garden, which is why God could remove him from it.
  • Once sin entered, Adam and Eve became carnal in nature, and the carnal cannot remain in the presence of God's garden.
  • Their desire for the tree of life after the Fall was not born of repentance or love for God — it was born of a carnal desire to avoid death.

Three Realms of Spiritual Growth: Revelation, Mysteries, and Secrets

  • Walking with God requires walking in three realms: revelation, mysteries, and secrets — these are the markers of genuine intimacy with Him.
  • Worship is not what determines intimacy with God; every creature worships God according to where they are, and worship will be accepted as it is offered in spirit and truth.
  • Intimacy is determined by how close God has brought you into His counsel — not by the fervency of your devotion or the consistency of your conduct.

"If you want to know if you're growing in the Spirit, if you don't walk in revelation, if you don't walk in the mysteries of God and you don't walk in the secrets of God, you have no intimacy with Him. You are saved, you're going to heaven, but you have no intimacy."

Divine Reward and Spiritual Dimensions

  • God distributes gifts and responsibilities according to each person's capacity — He is not comparing you to your neighbour but measuring the best against your own ability.
  • In the Parable of the Talents, servants who doubled what was given to them each received the same words: "Well done, faithful servant" — yet they entered God's rest according to their own dimension.
  • Believers are not called to be the same, and their reward cannot be the same — what appears equal on the surface operates in entirely different spiritual dimensions.

"When you start operating in different dimensions, most people want us all to be the same. But we are not called to be the same. And neither can our reward be also what? The same. We cannot receive the same reward."

Divine Invitation and the Law of Spiritual Access

  • True intimacy is not worship and not obedience — the law of the Spirit is that you cannot go where you are not invited.
  • The Bible never commands believers to "be intimate with God" — it calls them to return to God, but returning and transcending to a higher place are entirely different movements.
  • Prophetic sight and spiritual perception are directly tied to where God has positioned you in the heavenlies — those invited higher will see and hear more.

"The law of the Spirit is, you cannot go where you are not invited."

The Prodigal Son: Proximity Determined by the Father

  • The prodigal son returned home, but it was his father — not the son — who determined the level of proximity he would have in the house.
  • The older brother mistook his obedience and hard work for intimacy, which is the same error many believers make when they assume perfection earns closeness to God.
  • God loves flawed people because they depend on Him; self-sufficiency and a list of what you do not do are signs of distance from God, not closeness.

"This is why so many people in the church are confused that the flawed people are the closest to God. Because you think if I am perfect, then God will bring me close. No, He will not. He absolutely will not bring you close."

Dependency, Humility, and True Proximity to God

  • The more you see God, the more flawed you see yourself — the people closest to God carry the greatest humility.
  • The Jesus Prayer — "Lord Jesus, Son of God, have mercy upon me, a sinner" — captures the essence of true dependency: without His mercy, I return to sin.
  • When a person begins listing what they do not do compared to others, they have already moved far from God.

"The closer you are to God, the more flawed you see yourself. The people who are closest to God have the greatest humility."

Love for God as a Sign of Forgiveness, Not Intimacy

  • Loving God is not a sign of intimacy — loving God is a sign of forgiveness; those who have been forgiven much, love much.
  • True repentance is not a public announcement of past sins; a testimony of God's deliverance is a testimony, but broadcasting another person's failures is pride.
  • The heart is deceitful above all things — many do not recognise that what they call repentance is in fact a form of pride rooted in the absence of actually knowing God.

"A testimony of God's deliverance, that is a testimony. But claiming you used to do this with that person and that person is bad and this and this, that's no repentance, that's pride."

The Rapture, the Ten Virgins, and the Spirit of Wisdom

  • Christians will be left behind at the rapture not because of sin, but because of a lack of spiritual wisdom — all ten virgins were pure, none had offended God.
  • Oil in the lamps represents spiritual insight, perception, and the ability to see — the foolish virgins had no oil, meaning zero spiritual insight.
  • The wise virgins knew how to position themselves when the call came; the foolish could not, because wisdom — not purity — is the preparation.

"Wisdom is the preparation. Wisdom is the preparation. That's what it's the preparation."

Reading Heavenly Signs, Not Earthly Signs

  • Jesus rebuked those who could read weather patterns but could not discern the signs of the times — this is a failure of spiritual insight, not intellectual capacity.
  • The error of every generation that has predicted the end is that they look for earthly signs — wars, political powers, disasters — when the call is to look for heavenly signs.
  • The end will come as it was in the days of Noah: daily life will appear entirely normal until the moment of sudden divine action.

"You're looking for earthly signs, but you should be looking for heavenly signs. You're not looking at heavenly signs."

Heavenly Hierarchy and What You Can See

  • In Revelation 5, the angel could see everything below its own ranking in heaven — what you can see in the spirit is determined entirely by where you stand.
  • John and the angel could not see the Lamb, the elders, or the four living creatures until an elder came to them from a higher point in heaven — the elder saw the throne within the throne.
  • The elder could trace the bloodline of David back to its root in Jesse because he was standing at a higher point in the heavenlies than John or the angel.

"You and me can stand and look at the same thing and see completely different. Based on where we stand in the heavenlies and who we are standing with us."

Revelation: Heaven's Perception Imparted to You

  • Revelation does not create new truth — it reveals what already exists in heaven but cannot be seen without the light of God piercing your perception.
  • When God said "Let there be light," He was not creating light — He was revealing it, because God is light and in Him there is no shadow of darkness.
  • Revelation is an impartation of God's perception; the truth is not concealed — you simply do not yet have the light to see it.

"Revelation is not truth, revelation reveals the truth. Revelation is not creating something. Revelation is just unfolding something that has always been before you, but you have no capacity to see it beyond your present perception."

Secrets: What Is Concealed by God

  • Unlike revelation, which is not concealed but simply unseen, secrets are things deliberately hidden by God.
  • The kingdom of God remains full of secrets, mysteries, and revelations — those who claim there are no more secrets or mysteries in the New Testament are in serious theological error.
  • Paul's declaration in Galatians 1 — that his gospel was received not from man nor through man but through the revelation of Jesus Christ — demonstrates that secrets and mysteries remain the pathway of divine transmission.

"God is full of secrets, mysteries, and revelations. The kingdom of God is filled with secrets, mysteries and revelations. Mysteries remain. Revelations remain. Secrets remain."

Study vs. Revelation

  • Study is not revelation — the one who wrote the Scripture is not the one produced by studying the Scripture.
  • Walking in revelation means heaven's perception operates continuously — your ability to see does not depend on fasting or study sessions; it is simply who you are.
  • When the apostles needed men to distribute food fairly, they required men filled with the Holy Spirit — even practical excellence in the flesh counts for nothing in spiritual things unless the Spirit of God is doing it.

"Revelation is the sight of heaven, is what heaven can see. It's when God opens the eyes of your understanding. And you begin to see as heaven sees."

God's Recognition of Works and the Spirit's Authorship

  • God will never take credit for or acknowledge what His Spirit did not lead or guide — only the devil takes credit for what he did not do.
  • Paul's revelation that circumcision of the heart supersedes physical circumcision was not found in written Scripture at the time — it came through revelation, and it reframed everything the apostles understood about the covenant.
  • Revelation is what makes you see Scripture clearly and understand what God intended — without it, you are limited to surface references and will misread the Word.

"Only the devil takes credit for what he didn't do. If His Spirit did not lead you, if His Spirit did not guide you, He will never consider it. He will never say, He did that."

Dream Interpretation, Culture, and Revelation

  • Dreams are not interpreted through Scripture — Daniel was skilled in mysteries, especially of dreams, not because he read scrolls but because he was graced with the spirit of revelation.
  • Every vision God gives aligns to the culture, language, and experiential world of the recipient — a dream given in the second century cannot be interpreted with the framework of the twenty-first century.
  • What God uses to communicate travel in ancient times — a camel, a donkey, a horse — He will communicate as a plane or a ship today; the symbol changes, the meaning is the same.

Ancient Descriptions and the Relevance of Continued Revelation

  • Ancient observers described heavenly realities using the language and objects of their time — a chariot of fire was the most advanced form of rapid personal transport available to their imagination.
  • The concept of Jacob's ladder is a figure of speech drawn from the tools of that era; angels ascending and descending is the reality — the ladder is the descriptive framework of the observer.
  • The prophecies that once were revelation — "Behold, a virgin shall be with child", "He was pierced for our transgressions" — have been fulfilled and are now written history; revelation must remain living, current, and advancing.

"The scriptures you see used to be revelation. Why? Because there was something that somebody experienced in the sight of God and revealed it and gave it to everybody. Now it has become our normal life. There's another step of what? Revelation."

Key Definitions

Revelation — Not something new; the impartation of God's perception that enables you to see a truth already existing in heaven — "Revelation is not truth, revelation reveals the truth. Revelation is just unfolding something that has always been before you, but you have no capacity to see it beyond your present perception."

Mysteries — Truths within the kingdom of God that remain concealed to most believers and are not resolved or eliminated by the New Testament; the kingdom remains full of them.

Secrets — Things deliberately concealed by God; distinct from revelation in that revelation is not concealed but simply unseen, whereas secrets are intentionally hidden within God's counsel.

Intimacy with God — The closeness God grants by drawing you into His counsel through revelation, mysteries, and secrets; it is not achieved by worship or obedience but granted by divine invitation alone.

Wisdom (as preparation) — The spiritual insight, perception, and ability to see that prepares a believer for the return of Christ; represented by the oil in the lamps of the five wise virgins — the quality that determines readiness, not outward purity.

Dependency on God — The posture of recognising that without God's mercy you return to sin; the foundation of true proximity to God, demonstrated in the Jesus Prayer: "Lord Jesus, Son of God, have mercy upon me, a sinner."

Key Takeaways

  • Intimacy with God is granted by divine invitation, not earned through religious performance — Worship and obedience are important, but they do not produce closeness to God; only God determines how far into His counsel you are drawn.
  • The rapture will separate believers based on spiritual wisdom, not moral perfection — All ten virgins were pure; only the five with oil — spiritual insight and perception — were taken, which means preparation for Christ's return is a matter of the spirit, not conduct.
  • Revelation is heaven's perception imparted to you — it is not produced by study — Study yields references; revelation yields sight, and those who walk in revelation carry an unceasing heavenly perception that transforms how they see Scripture, people, and spiritual realities.
  • God is drawn to the dependent and flawed, not the self-sufficient and outwardly perfect — The closer you are to God, the more aware you are of your own weakness; self-sufficiency is a sign of distance from Him, not closeness.
  • You cannot see beyond where you stand in the heavenlies — Prophetic depth, spiritual sight, and the ability to reach the root of problems are entirely determined by how high God has invited you — this is why not all believers see the same realities even when looking at the same situation.

Reflection Questions

  1. If intimacy with God is determined by how high He has invited you — not by how much you worship or how obediently you live — what does your current spiritual life actually reflect about where you are standing in the heavenlies?
  2. The five foolish virgins were pure and without offence toward God, yet they were left behind. If the rapture came today, would you have the oil of spiritual wisdom and insight — or are you relying on outward conduct as your preparation?
  3. Where in your life are you depending on what you do not do, rather than depending on God's mercy? How does the Jesus Prayer — "Lord Jesus, Son of God, have mercy upon me, a sinner" — challenge your current posture before God?
  4. Are you treating study as the equivalent of revelation? What would it look like to actively seek God's impartation of heavenly perception rather than accumulating theological knowledge about Him?
  5. In what areas of your life are you asking God to treat symptoms — and what would change if you allowed the depth of divine revelation to expose and dissolve the root?
