Blood on the Altar: What the Blood of Jesus Has Already Accomplished
The blood of Jesus is not a weapon to wield — it is a finished work to receive.
The blood of Jesus speaks better things than the blood of Abel — but most believers cannot say what it is speaking. It is only the truth you know that liberates you, and knowing what the blood of Jesus has actually accomplished is what sets you free from striving, pleading, and applying what has already been eternally finished.
Teaching Overview
- The blood of Jesus accomplished a complete, one-time, eternal redemption — requiring no human participation, only reception.
- Believers are benefactors of the cross, not participants — our only work is to receive what Christ has already finished.
- The blood of Jesus gives life, grants unlimited access to God, redeems from the curse of the law, and brings believers into permanent, inseparable closeness with God.
- Pleading the blood reveals a lack of knowledge of what the blood has done — believers are called to remember and declare, not to plead.
- Partial truth still helps, but complete truth makes you whole — understanding the full scope of what the blood accomplished is what liberates.
Key Distinctions
| Old Testament Doctrine | New Testament Doctrine | |
|---|---|---|
| Basis | Repeated blood sacrifices of animals on the altar | One eternal sacrifice of Christ — "It is finished" |
| Quality vs. Quantity | Quantity of blood — goats and sheep, year after year | Quality of blood — the sinless blood of Jesus, shed once |
| What the blood could do | Cover sin temporarily | Blot out sin entirely — God no longer sees your failures |
| Human role | Required annual priestly participation and application | Reception only — we are benefactors, not participants |
| Duration | Temporary — required repetition each year | Eternal — "eternal redemption" that continues into eternity |
| Access to God | Restricted — one priest, once a year, into the Holy of Holies | Unlimited — the veil torn; any believer can enter God's presence |
| Pleading the Blood | Remembering the Blood | |
|---|---|---|
| What it assumes | That something remains undone — requiring your action | That everything is finished — Christ accomplished it all |
| What it reveals | Lack of knowledge of what the blood has accomplished | Understanding of the finished work of the cross |
| How it sounds | Petitioning for something not yet received | Declaring by reason of what has already been given |
| Biblical basis | No command from Jesus to plead or apply | Jesus said: "Do this in remembrance of Me" |
| Result | Striving and uncertainty | Rest and confidence in the finished work |
| Servants | Friends and Sons | |
|---|---|---|
| Relationship to God | Given orders — does not know what the Father is doing | Filled in on everything — privy to the mysteries of God |
| Access | Limited to tasks assigned | Unrestricted — the blood opens the floodgates |
| Knowledge | Operates by instruction only | Operates by revelation and relationship |
| How Jesus addressed His disciples | Before the cross — "servants" | After the cross — "I no longer call you servants" |
Revelation Is the Gateway to Freedom
- It is only when revelation dawns on you that truth manifests in you — reading scripture without the spirit of revelation produces the same result as the Pharisees and Sadducees: contending with what you cannot recognise.
- Revelation is progressive — it is not static, it is not stagnant; what you rejected as wrong in an earlier season may be the very truth God was always speaking.
- Partial truth will still help you, but when you know complete truth, you shall be made whole.
"It is the truth that you know that liberates you."
The Power of God Is Always Expressed Through Words
- The power of God is always expressed by words — His virtues cannot be shown forth unless they are spoken.
- God Himself speaks because that is how He ordained His power to be displayed — in the spirit, every prayer is heard whether quiet, aloud, or under the breath.
- Things must be spoken — whether in the spirit, in the heart, in the mind, or audibly before men.
"You cannot display the power of God without words."
The Blood Speaks — But You Must Know What It Is Saying
- The blood of Jesus speaks better things than the blood of Abel — but if you do not know what it is saying, you cannot receive what it is proclaiming on your behalf.
- Just as salvation requires knowing what happened at Calvary in order to confess and receive it, so the benefits of the blood can only be received by those who know what the blood has accomplished.
- You are only freed by truth — if you do not know what the blood has done, you remain in darkness even though the blood is still speaking.
"If you don't know what the blood has done, you are not free because you're only freed by the truth."
We Are Benefactors, Not Participants
- When the blood of Jesus was shed, no human being asked for it and no human being contributed to it — God did it of His own accord, by His own will, to accomplish what no human being could do.
- Human beings have no participation in what the blood of Jesus did — the cross happened so that you and I can receive it.
- The reason the church believes it has a participation in the work of the blood is because it has not been educated on what the blood of Jesus has actually done.
"We are benefactors of the cross. We are not participants. We are just here to receive a gift that we could not do. We could not buy. We could not afford."
The Finished Work: One Time, Eternally Complete
- The Atonement was one time — not two, not three, not four times — because the blood of Jesus is about quality, not quantity; in the Old Testament there was quantity without quality, blood that could only cover, but the blood of Jesus blots out sin entirely.
- When God looks at you He sees Jesus — He does not see your failures, He does not see your weaknesses; that was settled once, only once.
- Jesus said "It is finished" — not "it will be finished when you do something"; all that remains for you and me to do is receive.
"It is finished, but you keep using the blood as if nothing is finished. That's a contradiction. The one who paid the price is saying it is finished."
Jesus Never Commanded You to Apply the Blood
- Jesus never commanded anyone to apply the blood — He said, "Do this in remembrance of what I have done."
- The application of the blood on the doorposts in Exodus was a one-time instruction for a specific moment — not a daily practice, not a New Testament doctrine.
- The church has lost its post-Apostolic heritage — the church fathers already addressed most of what the modern church is still arguing about, and the instruction of Jesus was never to apply but to remember.
"Do this in remembrance of me. Remember what I have done for you. Don't forget it."
The Four Things the Blood of Jesus Has Accomplished
- The blood gives life — "Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, ye have no life in you"; no one can take the life of God from you once it is in you, for the Son came that you may have life and life more abundantly.
- The blood gives unlimited access to God — no matter how many times you fail, the moment you say "Father" in the name of Jesus, the blood has already balanced the account; you stand in the throne room of heaven and He is saying, "Where have you been? I've been waiting for you to come home."
- The blood redeems from the curse of the law — Christ became a curse for us so that the consequences of breaking God's law can no longer come upon those who are in Him; what the law demanded, Jesus paid.
- The blood brings you close — inseparably — you who were far off have been made near by the blood of Jesus; once His blood is in you, He can no longer leave you, because you are inseparable.
"God is madly in love with you."
Pleading vs. Remembering: The Correct Posture
- Pleading the blood is a posture that assumes something remains unfinished — it is the posture of someone who does not yet know what the blood has accomplished.
- Remembering the blood is the correct New Testament posture — bringing yourself to the remembrance of what has already been done, and declaring it.
- "By reason of the blood of Jesus" is not a plea — it is a declaration of cause: because of what the blood has already accomplished, life, access, redemption, and closeness are already yours.
"I don't plead the blood. I say by reason of the blood of Jesus. What does that mean? Because of what the blood of Jesus has done."
The Blood of Jesus Speaks in Heaven — Eternally
- The most powerful voice in the spirit realm is the voice of blood — that is why the blood of Abel could cry out for mercy on Cain, and why the blood of goats and bulls had no voice of its own and required human speech.
- The blood of Jesus speaks yesterday, today, and forever — it is not on a physical altar where it dries up and expires; it is in the highest altar of heaven, where the One who shed it is still alive and present.
- Demonic altars, witchcraft altars, and bloodline altars cannot overcome you because every physical blood expires — only the blood of Jesus is eternal and perpetually speaking on your behalf.
"The blood of Jesus speaks yesterday today and forever. Stop diluting the blood of Jesus."
Eternal Redemption: Nothing Can Be Taken From You
- By His own blood, Jesus entered once into the holy place and obtained not temporary but eternal redemption — if it is eternal, it does not need to be repeated, reapplied, or renewed by human effort.
- Eternal redemption means what He has redeemed continues into eternity — the enemy cannot take your children, cannot touch your bloodline, because what has been redeemed is redeemed forever.
- All that is required is belief — you are already dipped in it, it is running in your veins, in your soul, inside of you and all over you; the only act remaining is to believe it.
"It is eternal redemption. He will not take your children. He will not touch your bloodline."
Key Definitions
Revelation — Progressive illumination by the Spirit of God; not static or stagnant, it unfolds over time and causes truth that was previously misunderstood or rejected to become clear and transformative.
Benefactor — One who receives the full benefit of a completed act they had no part in producing; the believer's relationship to the cross — we receive a gift we could not earn, buy, or afford.
Pleading the blood — The act of repeatedly petitioning God through the blood of Jesus as though its work is incomplete; a posture that reveals ignorance of what the blood has already accomplished.
By reason of the blood — A declaration of cause and effect rooted in the finished work of Christ; not a plea but a statement of what is already true — "because of what the blood of Jesus has done."
Eternal redemption — The once-for-all work of Christ's blood that does not expire, does not require renewal, and extends its effects past this life into eternity — covering the believer, their children, and their bloodline permanently.
Curse of the law — The just consequence that God, as a righteous judge, must execute upon those who break His law; Christ became a curse for us so that this consequence can no longer touch those who are in Him.
Key Takeaways
- The blood of Jesus has already finished its work — striving to apply, plead, or repeat what Christ declared "finished" is a contradiction of the very words He spoke from the cross.
- You are a benefactor, not a participant — understanding this repositions you from religious effort into the rest of one who simply receives a gift already paid for.
- Knowing what the blood accomplished is what sets you free — partial knowledge produces partial freedom; complete truth about the blood produces wholeness.
- The blood gives life, access, redemption from the curse, and inseparable closeness to God — these are not things to seek or apply; they are realities already established for every believer to receive.
- Eternal redemption cannot be undone — the enemy cannot reclaim what the blood of Jesus has permanently secured over your life, your children, and your bloodline.
Reflection Questions
- When you call upon the blood of Jesus, are you pleading as though something remains unfinished — or are you declaring by reason of what Christ has already accomplished? What does your posture reveal about what you actually believe?
- Which of the four things the blood accomplished — life, access, redemption from the curse, inseparable closeness — do you find hardest to receive as already yours? What is the unbelief underneath that?
- If eternal redemption means the enemy cannot touch your children or your bloodline, what fears about your family have you been carrying that the truth of the finished work should dissolve?
- Prophet Lovy draws a sharp line between grace and knowledge — saying God's grace may produce results even when you don't understand what you're doing. What areas of your walk with God might be running on grace that you have mistaken for accurate knowledge?
- What would change in how you pray, how you approach God, and how you face spiritual opposition if you were fully convinced that the blood of Jesus has already brought you into permanent, inseparable closeness with the Father?
Prayers and Declarations
"If you felt like you have no life, by reason of the blood of Jesus, you have life in you. If you felt like the devil was winning against you, you have life. You have to be. You have to be."
"May every power of witchcraft be broken over your life, your life, your life, your life, by reason of the blood of Jesus!"
Say this:
"I can't be separated from him. I can't be separated from him. I can't be separated from him."
"May you be free in the name of Jesus. May you be free."
